xbox controller not working

Am i alone to have my xbox 360 controller not working on the game ?
tried to start rocket league : controller ok, can navigate on menu & play.
tried with god eater 2 : can't navigate on menu even i switch on settings.

Thanks for the replys. It's really odd, 1 out of 4 pc restarts it will work...until I alt-tab out, then its dead 100%. This game is 100% better with a controller.

Not sure what made controllers not work for you, but I solved it in few steps.

1) Be sure to turn on controller before boot up the game.
2) If it doesn't recognize your controller, try to relog your windows account (or computer account. Restarting the computer is not required).
3) Then turn the controller on and boot the game. It should connect.

That was how I had been using Xbox One Controller since first playing of GE Resurrection. Hope that resolve the issue. It's only issue I experienced and resolved.

Should be zero. I had been using my controller since the Resurrection and go on. Currently playing the Rage Burst.

Thanks man, I tried all steps, still only works when I do a full restart...then fire up the game directly after. Only works until I alt-tab out. I am using a regular, corded 360 controller...maybe ill try an Xbox 1 controller.

My workaround is to use an emulation software (like x360ce) to emulate my genuine xbox 360 wired controller. Had to rework the left and right trigger buttons with half axis 3 and inverted half axis 3 respectively for it to work.

Well, actually, I'd say the controller detection depends on the libraries and code a game use. This game has native DS4 compatibility, but it hasn't been the case for many games for a long time... So I'd say devs are more used to using XInput, compatible with Xbox 360 controllers.

Just to add to this - it may have DS4 support if plugged in via USB but not the "DUALSHOCK®4 USB Wireless Adaptor"

if this is detected at all, even as a secondary controller, the game crashes at setting screen. Also does not detect buttons properly. So this could be the cause of some peoples issues if they have multiple gamepads plugged in. Game was made before the Sony wireless adapter was released so it likely doesn't know the device ID.

Anyone else trying to use ds4windows with this game: must have "Hide DS4 Controller" option checked.

All others that have this wireless adapter and are trying to use another controller: just unplug it or disable device.

Also another option: could try deleting this file which contains controller configurations and such: %LOCALAPPDATA%\BANDAI NAMCO GAMES\GOD EATER 2 RAGE BURST\config.ini

The problem happens when the controller shuts off during gameplay. The solution is to sign off windows and sign back in (full restart isn't needed), and only play with the controller plugged in (to prevent shutting off).

You can use Special K to fix this. I have a fix specifically for this game and Watch_Dogs2 to prevent them from bugging out when an XInput controller is disconnected.

The option to do this is under Input Management | Gamepad | XInput Placeholders. Set Placeholder #0 to enabled.

It really sucks that this has to be done, but this is the 3rd game I've encountered with the problem in the past year.
