It first went from stealing avatars to now having computers getting fried*, accounts getting bricked* and certain brainlets dishing out bans unjustifiably* and you yet to publically disclose these issues so unaware players get affected by these issues.

Not sure if this is related but just now something/someone effectively locked down my VRChat. I was just walking around in TheGreatPug enjoying the conversations people were having (I didn't even talk or try to get in the way because I just wanted to watch) when suddenly I got something called 'Moderation Warning' flashing on my screen and then my entire game froze. I could still hear other people talking afterwards but I had to kill off the program. :(

I don't even know who this Tupper or Pepe are but this popup thing locked up my game twice now.

A Dev confirmed they can't get into your account and they can't ban people. They can only crash people.
Just go into private worlds for now and you'll be safe.

Thanks for the warning! I did have to log into my account again with my username/password afterwards in order to enter VRChat. I'll change my password just to be sure.

At the moment I'm just hanging out in some avatar rooms and hope the developers will fix this issue as I already miss watching other people interacting with eachother and I just ordered my own Oculus Rift set today. :(

I am sure they will resolve the issue soon, just wish they put security before new features.

We all know from before that you were able to prevent getting crashed and prevent stupid effects by simply blocking avatars.
Question is, does this STILL work after this absolute fiasco update? Can anyone confirm?
Because I do not dare try myself walking into, say, the public pug.

just a note, the computers getting fried, locked out accounts, and banning were all rumored. the devs has said again and again that they couldn't do it. the "bans that are happening right now are fake" they cannot ban you. it just sends the message that says you are banned. and they are aware of it. vrpill made an annoucement that they are wroking on it

A particle limiter will help you from being crashed via particle spam gestures. There is a document on how to set it up.

Yeah, that's a common thing people said. I don't understand why they make functions of protecting users so hard and out of the way.
