Is it possible to link your steam and VRChat account together?

I want to be able to link my Steam and VR Chat account together, so I can have a custom avatar. Is it possible and if so how do I do it?

Not that I know of. It's worth just making a vrchat account, you should be able to use the same name since steam accounts always have numbers beside their names.

No. They are separate accounts and cannot be linked. Steam accounts cannot have custom avatars. After you login once with your VRChat account you will still use that account instead of your Steam account even though you launch the game through Steam.

That just goes to show how much more this needs a workshop for avatars then. What's the point of this even on steam now?

An easier way of keeping avatars or some way to save the ones you pick from other worlds would be really nice. Tried to import a model and just gave up.

Anyways, the first time you wanna log in with your VRCHAT account, you start the game with steam as usual, then go into the SYSTEM tab, and log your steam account out.
Then you log in with your vrchat account and that's it. From then on, the game will always log your vrchat account in, instead of your steam account - even if you start vrchat from steam.
If you wanna go back to steam account, you just log out your vrchat account and log in with your steam account and vice versa.

There is a new feature recently that allows them to be connected along with Viveport and Oculus. Just create a regular VRChat account then go to link accounts and then open up VRChat with steam go to settings, go to upgrade account and do generate code. Then click on code code and paste it in merge token and hit merge accounts.
