What's Up With All the Anime Avatars?

Why are most the people in VR using anime avatars that are girl characters always men? I've never understood this, I only encountered two or three women in female anime avatars. Why is it always men in them? Is this a fetish y'all have? If you want me to address you as a man, you're supposed to look like a man.

Because it's way more awesome to look down in VR and see a big bosom rather than a bulge.
Also because 99% of all the avatars in VRchat are female anime characters.
You do not want to know how hard it was for me to find a male non-anime character when I tried to find one to work with my 3 tracker setup. (I'm -STILL- looking. Weeks after.)

Honestly I've been looking for male only avatars too when I started out with VRChat. Now I just find female animu avatars because they honestly look better than the male ones I see. You just don't find any male ones anywhere, even trying to find one to upload that looks decent.

Try looking up "Hidden4Love's Avatar Forest" Many (I'm not gay, just throwing that out there.) nice looking male avatars there!! :)

Anime avatars are the most aesthetically pleasing and versatile for creativity. Being a uncanney valley, video game ripped, or anything not quite right looking doesn't give you that sense of awe, or uniqueness.

Granted a lot of these people pick Female avatars cause the male avatars aren't to their liking.
Once you're able to do your own avatars you can make the male avatar you wanna be.

Vrchat grew on anime mmd models since long ago... been in vrchat for quiet a long time even i was confused on why everyone was useing anime girls even if they are a guy, but guess what now im one of them ppl and i get why now because matter what i try and find a good male one to make it turns out stupid or lame or borken and just not worth my time, plus its not a fetish atleast to me i do it for fun to learn more about unity and blender and game making because its fun and we play as them because we made them come to life... but i do agree some people might just have a fetish :p but dont hate just because you care about only what you like, maybe others like other things plus me hearing you say starwars kinda grosses me out i do hope everyone dont turn into that and you like the uganda crap? Wtf honestly that makes no sense to me, you rather have uganda run around with its cancer in a social game then for others to show off their anime girls cool animations and effects of their hard work?

I was agreeing til the second you said Star Wars is gross. The entirety of the Ugandan Knuckles trend was a joke, something fun and it introduced a lot of people to VRChat. Your opinion doesn't matter to me, I may agree to stuff, but the second you denounce what I worshipped since I was 3, "gross", you have no right to even reply to me. And the fact you said, "then for others to show off their anime girls cool animations and effects of their hard work?", proves you only entered this game mainly to live out your anime fantasies, not to think it's a social game when you described the game is mainly about people's anime avatars.

Pretty much. When I thought of VRChat, I thought of doing daily life things and meeting people in VR, so I would expect things that look a bit real and stuff. What do I expect? The entirety of the game was filled with men in women avatars. It's the equivalent of dressing up as a baby and throwing it up in the Google, "I like to dress up as a baby!" Next thing you know, you're at the Hiltons on a Saturday with 300 people who like to do this stuff.

i cant enter a single room without seeing 10 people with their avatar as some anime girl who look's like she's 10.

whats this weird obsession the community of this game seems to have? and why do all of them sound like 40 year old men?
