So what is with people stealing avatars
I took the time to learn unity and blender. Now every world i go to someone steals my avatar...like really? What is going on and should i even bother logging in? The knuckles meme was fine but this is annoying. Its more than just the copying thing...people mess with the lighting so you cant see anything, ex. I appreciate trolling but this is such a low-level garbage that offers no humor. Are the devs going to do something about this or is this just going to be one of those ignored problems that affects the game negatively?

I do avatars for free but anyway if you encounter the hacker copied your avatar either (depending you actually have the avatar in unity) to re-upload it via delete in show build content then re-upload the avatar would have the avatar broken (disappear and you will be all good)

And this is why I discourage buying an avatar for like 100 bucks.

Oh, alright. So there's no problem with hackers stealing your s--- then.

How did you get that? What I'm saying is $100 would be 10 hours if you're being paid $10 an hour. I believe actually learning to use blender and unity would be a better investment of your time then to go to a job and earn $100 to waste on an avatar.

There are those who make theirs from scratch, but this isn't an issue anymore as you can just reupload your avatar as something else (I.e. a block or nothing at all), then just upload your original model again as a new upload entirely.

Wait what does that accomplish?

The person who stole your avatar shares the same upload as you, meaning that if you change the original upload to let's say a basic unity square, the guy who stole it would be stuck with a broken square model. Afterwards you can just reupload your original avatar as a new file and you can continue using it without the worry of someone else owning it.

From a industry standpoint, 100 dollars for a 3d model is pretty reasonable. This is a game though, so I don't understand why people are charging that much for a character. I personally spent 24 hours trying to get my custom model rigged and I agree that avatar stealers are my #1 hated type of people. I hope this gets resolved soon/

Especially when it's unmodified MMD models, not even like custom work of a bunch of parts put together.

They just take a copy of it. But if you report them, they will get banned.

I actually wonder how you report someone.
Calling a mod to a room seem to do nothing.

Well I guess the point of paying for a avatar is to tell them to make a custom one.

Yes anyone can learn how to modify avatars in Blender and Unity but can you make a new, high quality one from scratch? I know a lot of people that want specific characters created that do not exist in any 3D form yet. Personally, if there was a character I liked enough that didn't exist in any form, I would pay close to $100 for a really good version of it.
