Stop looking into mirrors
It doesn't matter which world I join, people always look at each other in mirrors and keep touching each other. I also have an VR and it's fun at first but there are so many things to do in this game and not just sitting in front of a mirror. Take the pug for an example. This world has bars, multiple floors, interactive items etc. And there are a bunch of people sitting in a corner, just looking in the mirror. They don't even talk. I mean, everyone can do whatever they want, but I don't understand how you can get enjoyment from that? Isn't it boring after a while?

My friend these ''people'' aren't actual people but rather the reflections of the people that were staring into the mirrors, their reflections snatched them out of the world and put them in their mirror dimension. The reason they are looking into mirrors is because they are waiting to lure more people in while laughing at the actual people who they replaced. Don't fall into their trap, stay away from mirrors at all costs.

I think it helps people immerse themselves. Making a movement and seeing their reflection copy that. I liked the mirror a lot at first, like it was training my brain to identify my avatar with myself.

But yeah, there are plenty of things to do. The game has rightfully earned the nickname mirror simulator for a reason

Most often, many of these people do things other than just sit in front of a mirror. Many of them are having a few minutes to chill out after already having an adventure, and others are perhaps trying to take a moment to make new friends to embark on their own journey with. Others are perhaps testing avatars they have made or found; you do want to spend some time in front of a mirror and become familiar with the facial gestures for each before using it extensively, lest you make an odd face at an important time. Most are probably just as bored as you are, just waiting for someone to take initiative and ask to go do something (Murder, Electric Sands, etc.)

Mirrors are a congregation point, VRChat's version of the Hachiko statue at Shibuya station. It's a place of waiting where you can meet others and hopefully have a memorable experience. Without mirrors, we would all be adrift, relying on chance to run across each other randomly. Mirrors fulfill both a social and practical purpose, and they should be embraced for what they are instead of ignored, for ignoring those gathered around a mirror is taking a chance at skipping out on your chance to have a memorable experience in an otherwise all-too-forgettable day.

All that being said, you losers in the Void Club need to get up and dance or something. It's okay to take short breaks in front of the mirror, but don't sit there for hours in the faint hope that some real girl is going to come in and take you over to the private rooms. It's probably one of the best clubs in VRChat. I've had a lot of fun dancing there in the past. Updates to the world seem awesome and I'd love to try them out. But the scene is dead there because everyone knows it's just 30 of you guys in front of the mirror.

its not your business what people do in this game, howd you like someone telling you what you Should be doing vs what youre enjoying doing.

This is so true. People can do whatever they want but this comment points out the problem perfectly.

i ususally just flat up ignore people if they stare at mirrors all day (i have had situations happen... essentially throughout the multiple times this has happened, they all started bragging about thier model if you asked why they wouldnt stop staring in the mirror)

The mirror meme is because it's easier to keep track of what everyone is doing. Flicking your head around when you can stare at a plane that shows everyone as well as the added bonus of yourself cause who knows when your avatar does something buggy.

Getting upset at people who use mirrors to ease interactions is irrational.
Same for people with cameras aimed at themselves. FBT people in particular never know when they're bugged out.
And sure, there's some people who are a bit narcissistic but letting it bother you is hilarious to me.
Stop getting mad at things that are pointless, it's a waste of energy.

If you're telling me there's more to do than staring at mirrors in this game, you are fooling yourself and ... that's about it.
When Udon and more comes out, maybe something(finally) will happen.

Doom, Never Have I ever, Cards against Humanity, Karaoke, Sister dungeon, Brother Dungeon, etc. There is quite a bit to do in VRChat, and the list of things continually grows. I think mirrors are a good place to find people, as some above have said... It's a little unnerving to go to a club, see no one on the dance floor, and 10+ people all staring at a mirror. It just doesn't suit the environment, at that point you are better off at a study/sleep/chill room. To be clear, I don't mind if people "take a small break" or "check something" in the mirror. Just seems kind of odd to stay there for hours on end.

Of course, I doubt it all starts like that. People probably do start off dancing and eventually get tired out and go rest by the mirror (I'd hope).
