I can't play on my Mac since the update
Since the update yesterday GOP is launched but remains stubbornly black, I no longer have access to the game. I can hear the sounds of the game on the other hand. I am under Mac OS High Sierra - imac Intel Core 2.5 GHz 8 GB RAM, Radeon HD 6750M 512 MB graphics card

Can you alt + tab out of the game and hop back in?

Yup, I'm on a Mac too. Same system as the OP, but with only 4 gigs memory. I'm not even getting sound. I click the play button and it just says "running", but never runs, and just switches back to the play button.

u can try to clear the app/restart using your task manager. or reinstall the game. or maybe contact support

I have been playing on my mac os 10.13.6 BUT when I go to quit, the game just hangs up. Had to force quit probably since the last upgrade. So it seems they did something wrong.

Is your OS Sierra? I have Sierra 10.12.6 and it says it is up to date.

I think mine is High Sierra. Sometimes I can quit just fine, but most times, since their last update, it just hangs up and I have to force quit. Steam will quit ok after I get GOP shut down.

It's a game manipulation update.
It may not be able to detect the virus.
Turn off the virus detector and try it.
