What are the differences of the Divinity Franchise games?
So right now there is a bundle for the Divinity Franchise on sale. The bundle includes DOS1 and 2 as well as Divinity 2, Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity. What are these games? Is Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2 just remakes of these games or are they different games?

None of the games are remakes, but the timeline is a little...skewed and none of the games were released in chronological order. However they also act as standalone games and you don't need to play one to understand the other.

This explains the timeline better than I possible could. Also the order games played with Real time w/ Pause combat and not turn based like Original Sin.

For the record, you won't find the same level of polish you see in OS and OS2 in the other Divinity games. OS and especially OS2 are the culmination of everything Larian learned from their mistakes over the years, and there were a lot of mistakes.

That's not to say they're not enjoyable and/or interesting, but you should be aware anyway.

I wouldn't call them "real-time with pause." That generally refers to more tactical games like Baldur's Gate and Dragon Age.

Divine Divinity and Beyond Divinity are Diablo-like hack and slashes, Divinity II is is an action-RPG, and Dragon Commander is an RTS.
