GROG The Troll - how to kill strategy:
2 undead - lone wolf, one shadowblade - other 2h inquisitor necro, u need initiative points high enough to start one after each other) - Crucial skills - Onslaught, 3 source points, time warp

1. First encounter, when he fortifies destroy his physical armor
2. Change him into chicken, he will run away very near the cliff
3. Go backward untill you both will have 10 ap
4. Wait for him, he will fortify and get close (I was waiting for him at the entrance this time, try to calculate so he will fortify, go close but will not have AP to hit you)
5. Destroy his physical armor with your rogue, make rogue invisible
6. Quite important: Spell Shackles of Pain on him by your 2h Necro
7. He will attack your necro, hurting himself, he will not attack other party member as it is invisible
8. After attacking you ( he needs to harm you). he should have around 8k HP
9. Now previously invisible rogue backstab and onslaught him (life will go down to around 6k - maybe more , my weapons were crappy on rogue)
10. 2H onslaught and Time Warp
11. 2H finishes the Troll.

Enjoy :steammocking:

2h Necro had around 750 dmg
Rogue had around 350

Took me around 2 hrs to figure it out, if you have more members then 2 its easier, but 2 is doable (normal difficulty).

He is very hard as every turn he gets around 6.5k life back, and with Fortify he has like 12k physical hit points...

Good lord, he heals way too much to take him down when you first meet him. Have to level up...

Just get polymorph 3, get Forced exchange, reduce the HP of the person with that skill to as close to 1% as possible and then use it on him.

Have your pyro keep him burning so he doesn't heal. Have your aero keep him stunned so he can never attack you. Easy game, easy life.

I Got rid of his troll blood with a Dimensional Bolt.

Fire will stop his regeneration. He has no armor unless he gets a round to cast Fortify. So you can just chain CC him with Aero or Charms.

He has no armor at all so even a lvl 1 group with 4x sleeping arms can kill him without him doing anything at all. Just set him on fire and afk kill him.^^

This just shows who idiotic the whole armor system is. :p

Ok, maybe your strategy is better, but my show prowess as I did not use any trick.

Burning negates his regeneration. Poison does the same for the other troll in this zone. Apart from the big flashing light that is his resistances profile, there's a book you can find ("T Is For Troll") that tells you how to remove troll regeneration. I try to read all the books I can find, and this one seemed very Chekov's Gun-y, so I kept a copy.

"Some adventurers insist that burning or poisoning may prevent a troll from regenerating....some trolls are weaker than others to certain elements"

Virulent Trolls: Use poison freely, vulnerable to fire.

Blazebone Trolls: Live neat rivers/ponds, poison stops their healing

Amphibious Trolls: Lungs fill with fog and smoke easily

Deathfog-immune: Can only be harmed when curse is applied to the appropriate attack method.

I'm only in Act 2, so I'm not sure the last 2 exist yet, but it's all there.
Or you can just do all damage before he has his turn.

Worked for me.

use loremaster to examine and find out their weakness.

The Fire Slug summon is great for this guy.

i learned a very ease strat from the tips/tricks section for this guy. just buy/use Chloroform skill for scoundrel for all 4 of your peeps (only need 1 skill point in it), make sure you have at least 1 person with more initaitive then grog and your set. you just chain sleep him and keep an eye on your CD's.

You can use almost any fire ability but id recomend necro fire so it stays on him. The game registers the sleep first before the fire dot so he stays alseep and does not act during his turn. Just make sure you dont hit him once you apply the sleep. As long as your paying attention to whos turn it is and your cd's, its a free kill.

Uhm, shoot a fire arrow, throw a fire grenade or use a fire spell and then kill the poor guy. Easy. The troll on the Isle was a bit more difficult.

If you need to CC him, you can also use Chicken Claw (which is pretty good if you set up a large fire field for him to run around in), or the Atrophy and Silence Combo. You don't really need Silence since his magic attacks are pretty weak compared to his melee attacks. I think Knockdown and Petrify are the only CC he's immune to.

You know grog is a type of strong alcoholic beverage? Alcohol burns like... well, alcohol! So his name is already a "hint" how to deal with him.
