Saving drunk Dain - is it possible ?

He is lying at doctor Leste camp. I healed him and cured his Drunk state (Peace of Mind skill). But he still dies. Minor thing probaly but has anybody been able to save him ?

I have also cured Mona (necro trader) from disease but she is still not talking to me. But trade is available.

Before you speak to the female NPC next to him. And before speaking to him.

I loaded old save and it works but it doesn't make any sense!!!

I still got sparkler card from his corpse but healing him gives 250exp.

But ditching 3hrs of progress because of that..damn.

EDIT. I see, when I had conversation with Leste I gave her alcohol for him and that is the mistake. Even though I can cure his drunk status he will die. Key is to heal him as you said. Who could have know dammit...

Yep. He's a terrible drunk, and healing him AFTER giving him booze gets him killed.
Instead, heal him and never give him booze.

Man, I don't know how, but I was able to do both. You just have to be ready for the heal before he fully drinks it. I am not sure if this is a bug or just dumb luck on my part, hope you guys have the same results!

Talk to the doctor with 1 character, then while still in dialogue, heal him with another. Then go back to dialogue and give the doc alcohol. You'll get xp for both.

I realize it's only 250 xp, which isn't much in this game, but early on, that could be the little push you need to reach level 3 or 4 while in Fort Joy.

I know this is a bit of a necro but I found an interaction with Doctor Leste I have never seen before. If you go to her when you are injured she will give you a penny bun mushroom and empty flask and tell you to mix them together.

I thought I might mention it since I have not seen it ANYWHERE on the internet.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ it's been 4 years already ?? Feels like yesterday I was playing haha.

Anyway, lot's of quests and battles can be completed in so many interesting ways. That's what I love the most about both Divinity games.

You just have to cast Restoration on him before giving the doctor booze to give to him. Otherwise he gets alcohol poisoning or something. :P

If you cast restoration on him the doctor thanks you and no longer wants the booze to heal him. You get the sparkler card and a bit of a story but not the exp for giving the doctor booze.
