I’d like to see a build guide too. It’s kind of overwhelming and I don’t want to just go with a preset class.

Well, i personally started as Fane with geomancer/pyro and playthrough was relatively easy on classic difficulty (hard), i imagine this class also chews right through explorer (normal) difficulty even easier. I dont know anything about best melee class to start out with so i hope someone answers that part of the question. :P

^ should be a necromancer!

The correct answer is as follows:

Incarnate summoner
Incarnate summoner
Incarnate summoner
Incarnate summoner or optional healbot mage

All with wand + shield and stench talent.

Dunno , personally I like the classic way . You have a Tank , a healer , a rogue and a Mage . I always go like that and Thankfully in this game you can add more abilities to them later on if you find them lacking . I'm playing as Lohse , so went Conjurer . Left the Red Prince as a Fighter . Left Sebille as a rogue and made the Beast in my Cleric .

Warrior with 2h, rogue, wizard with geo+fire / air+water, and whatever you want as 4th, possibly ranger. Works very well for me on tactician. The most important thing is to have thievery and get some +thievery gear (mostly so everyone can steal) :squirtyay:

MC - Polymorph 2
Persuasion 1
Thats 5 stat points.

Put them into STR

Take Bull Horns (a must) and any of the remaining polymorph skills (I personally prefer chameleon over Tentacles)

Take Pet Pal as your first talent.
(You can skip pet pal as your conjurer will have it and take oppertunist instead however I find its "safer" to keep it on your persuade character just in case)

For the Rest of the team.

Cleric
Shadowblade
Conjurer

Focus on Phsyical dmg and then use your polymorph skills for CC. When faced with a High Phsyical defence enemy, let the Conjurer and Cleric eat away there low magical resist.

Your MC will be your persuade character.

Conjurer will be loremaster

Cleric will be your seller

Shadowblade will be your pickpocket

A well balanced team thats easy to understand for beginers and lets you pretty much do what you want.

I almost use the same roster:

Sebille (to get the wings for free and early on) Polymorph with Shield and Onehand. With a little Geo to buff and use poison on fane to heal. Buff strength and some constitution.

Fane as cleric with 2hand to heal and deal damage. Buff strength, Int and Con equally.

Ifan as ranger with a little pyro. Buff Fin and a little Wits (for initiative). He is the dmg dealer.

Lohse as summoner and support. Can raise totems in poison to heal fane and can summon the incarnate to deal phys dmg and taunt. Havent quite decided what her 2nd focus should be but considering a bit of geo... not much.

So far it works great (tactician mode) if you focus on phys dmg :)

Why/How do you use your polymorph with one-handed + shield and not another weapon?

Shouldn't matter. The important thing is: Close combat = 2 points polymorph
Loremaster Sep 28, 2017 @ 11:48am
If you're buying it here on Steam then I believe you have up to 2 hours played time in which to ask for a refund if it doesn't appeal. I say go for it!

I'm running a classic team of Wizard - Lohse, Fighter (2h) -Ifan, Cleric - Beast, and Rogue -Sebille. Pretty fun but I'm just playing on explorer so not sure how viable it is in higher difficulties.

So you don't play à full polymorph build?

Besides the summoner builds I hear about being OP (Haven't tried summoner yet).

Char 1: Warfare3->polymorph5->warfare10->polymorph10, 2handed weapons.
Char2: Scoundrel3->polymorph3->either dual wield 10 or dual wield 5 ->scoundrel 10. Arguably getting crit damage is better because of backstab, but increasing base damage adds tons more damage to your backstab crit as well. Personally I'd put points in dual wield (as that base damage boost gets the 150%+scoundrel% boost) then focus on crit damage.
Char3: Either repeat char2 or go archer with extreme maneuvability and abuse of the skill that gets damage boosts from distance (sniper). Huntsman3->aero2->Ranged10->Scoundrel5+, with a focus on boosting crit rates. Or polymorph over scoundrel for base damage increases.
Char4: Pure support. Geo2->Hydro2->Pyro2->necro3->Geo10/hydro10 (as much as you can boost them). Focus on providing armor survivability and buffs.

Make one char your persuasion, one your loremaster, and the other 2 thievery chars. Thievery > barter.
