Best summons for Conjurers?
Ive almost always used the incarnate due to its ability to be either physical or magical damage, and the various buffs that give it new abilities and 25% more damage.

Are the other summons worth a damn? And if so which ones?

Of the few times I actually bothered to spend the source point to summon the fire slug or hungry flower, they underperformed by a wide margin in comparison to the incarnate champion. Im starting to wonder if other summons are just unbalanced/useless in general.

Incarnate is definitely the strongest and most versatile summon. I don't think any of the others really come close.

Bone widow is probably the next best. Not as strong as the incarnate, but pretty decent for the 2 AP and 2 skill point investment.

I've used Artillery plant on occasion. It can do pretty good poison damage and hits pretty hard, though it's big and slow and doesn't move very well. 2 source points for it is really pricey though, so once you get anything better to do with your source points you'll probably never use it again.

Fire slug is weak but you get them early enough that you might not have anything better to do with your points. Obsolete by middle of Act II.

The special summon you get from Red Prince's story is... okay... but it comes so late you'll probably never use it except for the novelty.

I've never used any of the others. (Well, bloated corpse monster is okay in Act I).

Incarnate is by far the best. However the other summons can help fill the gap when your incarnate is on cool down.

i use incarnate champion, totem and Bone widow as a second. Others like probably never use it.
I used bloated corpse as my second summon during act 1. I wish that black cat summon somewhat decent since I like its skill.

Pretty much no. It’s probably the second biggest flaw with summoning. The lack of variety can make the class feel pretty bland at times. Mix that with the scaling issues....

Worst part is 2 source points can later be popped in on same incarnate for a dash of either ice, cursed fire/lightning/poison, making it even more powerful.

Anyone know about Featherfall? Is he any good? Just got the skill on my main character whos a warrior, want to know if I should reload a save and get the skill on my summoner, if its worth a damn atleast.

Any summon is best used with a dedicated summoner, almost always.

Featherfall's case... Eh. On his own he MIGHT cause bleeding, I think he can cause blind, and perhaps that wing attack of his can remove surfaces... Other than that, it's a matter of do you really want 2 AP to summon him to the field, especially due to being squishy as he'd likely be.

Overall the best summon I can think of for non summoners is Bone Widow based on slight strength alone or bloated corpse. Still, not much though but fits in with the physical damage.

Fire slug is actually quite strong because you dont need many points in conjure to be effective . It has laser ray and hits plenty hard from early to midgame. The cool thing about the slug is that its firebased and fits well for teams that dont want a fire mage in their team but can get a decent fire summon without putting many points in conjure. It also has both armor and magic armor. ++ my point goes to fire slug for sure. Use it vs enemies weak to fire GG.

Incarnate is only summon worth having on a dedicated summoner. If you want to do elemental damage, cast it on water and it will do water damage; cast it on blood and it learns mosquito swarm.

Once you get Warp infusion - damage and armour go crazy.
At lvl 16 my 19 incarnate does 800 damage with corrosive blade, and has phys/ magic armour 1500 - he never dies in any fight.

It's a pity that other's don't compete; I think it would be fun to use a condor, and have a set of abilities that makes it competitive with the incarnate.

For non summoners bone widow is the better summon as it does quite good damage and can be used to block doorways, take agro etc.

In my current game, as well as the pure summoner, I'm trying to build a 1H shield/ poly with a bone widow, and want to give him some summon stats so the widow has more HP and has more damage; only really doable once divine items come in at 16.

The one large bonus the bird has going is that he does "Piercing damage" on his basic attacks. So he can ignore armour and happily peck people to death.

The sad part is that he just doesn't scale that well like all summons bar the incarnate due to his buffs. Yes supercharge can be used but, still they feel like they need to scale a bit better.
