Nintendo switch discount?
I'm so sad that you don't give us a little bit discount for the switch version.
I already owned the Steam version of the game.
And to pay 50 bucks (!) again for the game is too much for me.
I've been waiting for many weeks and most big games were price reduced,
but not your game. And its only a (late) port not first release.
But you are not the only diappointment. CD-Project is also
greedy for money. I know, both games are epic.
But full price for late ports? No little discount (maybe 20%?) on black friday? :(

I do agree it's a shame we have to purchase it twice. I would say the high cost is more of a Nintendo issue. All the games hold their price.
However after a small issue with the switch version after an update I had to deal with Larian support.
Have to be honest it's worth buying twice to support such a caring and professional developer.
They were all over the forums gathering information from people with the problem and it was fixed in few days.
And the switch version is exactly the same as steam but obviously highly portable. With the save sharing you can chang between the 2 in a matter of minutes.
it's a gabe Dec 5, 2019 @ 10:23am
I can see why developers don't give discounts on remasters or re-releases of ported games on consoles, but I also can't agree with that. Here on Steam we're so used to having discounts and sometimes even receiving enhanced editions and whatnot for free that it's quite awful that console users don't have the same privilege.

And geesh. It's full price on Switch? Wow... Larian, seriously. Get off your high horse and lower the price. The game is old by now, regardless of how good it is. It doesn't really matter if it's a new release for the Switch, it's still the same old game.

And Larian…

You praise your switch version as cross save able with the pc version.
The only problem is you have to buy the same game twice.
(I have paid the full price for my pc version)
So i have to pay 100,-€ all together? I think this is a bit unfair.
I mean its digital only on switch!

What Do you think, Larian? What about a switch diskount for us , who owned
the steam version already?

I'm not sure what you guys want them to do. The switch is a Nintendo platform - They have a say in the price and the port, it has nothing to do with steam or PC. Nobody is forcing you to buy the game on the switch if you want to do that you have to pay. Not really super confusing.

Can you name one game that started on the PC and is now on the switch that you got a discount on?
Baldurs Gate? Neverwinter? Pillars? any of them?

Ok, you're right. I see it. I understand that some companies want make their big money
by recycling games, but i always thought there are some companies with better/fair ambitions.
Maybe all prices/discounts are under control of nintendo. So its not Larians fault.
I will think about, if its worth the 15% time i play on my switch in bedroom before sleep,
to pay 50 EUR again. Dragons Dogma have i bought for 20 EUR while in discount and it is a clearly better port than for example Skyrim. And i owned DD before on pc and xbox360.
Ok that's a bit extreme to compare that with Divinity, but my willingness to buy a game
again will be much higher, when there are offers from time to time. Only 10-20% discount
can make the difference. And you are right, nobody is forcing me to buy the game, but there
is also nobody making the game tasty for me(, or for others with small budgets), to buy it twice.

It's not recycling the game to offer it on a different platform. Moving to console gives people that don't have a PC the option to play the game. It also gives Larian a new fan base which is never a bad thing.
You have to look at it as cost vs more games. Is giving them your money worth it if they are going to keep putting out amazing games?

If you aren't happy with the price then you could simply not buy it?
Having a moan in the forum isn't constructive or helpful to anyone.
