Eithne: Corpse Explosion Book (SPOILER ?)
I've gotten this quest three in three different runs. I have not gotten the book all three times. I guess you're supposed to make the bbok from what I have found in the forum. Are there any clues in the game about acquiring or making the book? Nothing i have seen in forum or online tells me anything useful

1.) Meet Eithne, Get Quest
2.) ????
3.) Craft Book
4,) Profit

WTF is supposed to be between steps one and three?

Combine any non-source Pyrokinetic skill book with any non-source Necromancy skill book. I suggest picking the cheapest skill books you can find.

Combine any pyro skill book that does not require source with any necro skill book that does not require source. boom, corpse explosion.

Search combined skills online and you will see all 48 craftable skills.

Yeah, try combining different books. You found a blood rain book right? Hydro and Necro. They don't explain it well, but there are hints. I mean, do you know why they added an undead cat with a squirrel on it? Yeah, this is why.

I see. It's a matter of experimenting. I haven't bothered with crafting books and scrolls. That would explain why I haven't stumbled up on that. Thanks

Split all your skillbooks based on physical/magic. So basically Pyro, Geo, Hydro and Aero are magic and the rest are physical. Combine one physical book with one magic book and you get THE combined skill from those two schools. So Rain and blood sucker make Blood rain. But Ice fan and mosquito swarm? Blood rain. It doesn't matter what skill the book if for, only the governing school. The only difference is when you get source skills in act two, that use the points on your portrait you unlock when getting rid of the collar. Mix ONE of those source skills into the recipe instead of two regular books (one source + one regular) and you get the source version.

So going back to the corpse explosion example, any fire skillbook and any necro skillbook will make you corpse explosion. However, if you have a source skillbook like say epidemic of fire (Pyro's chain lightning) and you mix that with a basic necro book like raise bloated corpse, you'll get the Mass Corpse Explosion book which will cost source points but will explode ALL corpses in an area. If you pile 5 corpses near a boss then use this skill, you'd get 5x the damage of the base skill, often one shotting things caught in multiple explosions.

These recipes exist for every combination of magic + physical and magic + physical (one being a source skill)

Scrolls on the other hand, can be used in crafting skillbooks if you use blank skillbooks. Crafting scrolls themselves is relatively simple. You might want a reference guide to speed up the process, but basically if you autosort your bag, all the items that fit after the elemental essences are scroll crafting materials. Arthropod legs, sharp claws, all those misc type items. Simply mix one of them with a sheet of paper and an essence and see what you get. Nothing? keep changing the essence until you get a result. Some require specific tier essence, so you might NEED a regular one and the higher quality will not work instead. Definitely check out this guide if you want to skip the process and just get right into the recipes:

Hope this helps make things more interesting for ya. I gotta say, certain scrolls like skin graft can be incredibly useful to play around with and can come in clutch sometimes. Bone armor is a fantastic " oh ♥♥♥♥" moment type scroll that can be a lifesaver. Make good use of them.

Do note: some recipes may not work. They might require you to meet specific requirements first (like having curse) or simply not still be in the game as I believe these were mined straight from the files. Most work fine though.

I know this has been answered already and crafting the book is super easy, but I believe you can actually get the book through a quest as well. I forget which one but I'm thinking it's the Lich quest.

It is possible but you have to pick a specific response, and I think the reward itself can be randomized, so even then it might not be guaranteed. But yes, you might be able to get it that way.
