thanks for the guide !
Most herbs aren't worth mass growing, but a few are incredibly OP to mass produce, such as Trumpet of Death for 75% resist potions (150% with 5-star diner!) and drudenae+augmentor for ferocity herbmixes. Stock up on potion bottles at traders, and pick up every bucket you see.
Placing and harvesting buckets is very tedious, but if you drag the crafted seedling buckets onto the ground, then use Apportation skill to pick them all back up, you can harvest MUCH faster from your inventory. You can craft Apportation very early, with a rope, high quality air essence, paper, and a blank skillbook.
The buckets useable for herbs are specifically the buckets that are labeled as "armor". Many buckets that are non-armor are not craftable into seed buckets, and are useless. However, a "bucket of water", such as those found on the Lady Vengeance's deck, can be crafted using an empty cup to get the correct "armor bucket", and then planted. All three variants of the buckets can be found in/around the ship.
To sum up:
Armor bucket = seed bucket
Water/Milk bucket = empty it out!
Bucket = trash
Augmentor seedlings can be used in seed buckets, but NOT high quality augmentors, or ultimate augmentors, limiting their usefulness.
Since losing a honey jar is such an irritating loss for those making loads of charm arrows for money-making, or charm grenades, this seems worth adding to the addendum about using containers not being consumed in recipes.
This is very significant, especially with the Crafter's Kit mod, because the end result is that Firestorm Grenades are MUCH easier to make when armed with this knowledge. Took me forever to realize how easily it secretly is to make these.
