How long does it take for Han to find stuff?

I asked Han to find me stardust herb in the beginning of act 2. I completed Act 2 before he came back with what I asked for in act 3. I made a different play through and figured that the length of time to find something may be influenced by the rarity of the item I was asking for. So I asked him to find me wood chips next. Still took him until act 3 to get wood chips for me.

So is the length of time Han spends searching for an item programmed to take up the entirety of the whole act or is Han being exceptionally lazy in my playthroughs?

Length of Time = Level Up.
So, he can get you one thing per level.

I always though it was linked to vendor restocks. So every level up or one hour, whichever comes first. I’ve had him show up after AFK periods or long respec/crafting/shopping sprees. Figured it just made sense it’d be linked to that same reset timer.
