PSA: Deathfog on the prologue ship!

In the prologue ship at the begining of the game, there are 2 deathfog barrels that are locked in a room. after grabbing the skull key and unlocking the door, if you are quick, you can grab both of those deathfog barrels before the void monster smashes them. You can take those 2 barrels with you and if you are undead you can ONE of those barrels to kill alexander and the geists right outside the gates of fort joy the first time you see him by using chemelion cloak, running behind alexander out of their sight range, sneaking, throwing a deathfog barrel on the ground and attacking it.

You can then use the second barrel to compelty cheese the last fight in act one as well by getting to a specific with the use of chemelion cloak, sneaking into position, moving a posion barrel out of the way and then using the second deathfog barrel at that specific position, then teleporting alexander into the deathfog, killing him instantly.

Of course, this works on all difficulty levels.

Alexander can be killed like a hundred different ways at 3 different times.
He's the new Braccus Rex. He doesnt stay dead but he does die alot.

I tried the Deathfog trick just a minute ago. It breaks open and becomes a poison barrel instead. No deathfog - no deaths. I guess the game doesn't want you to kill Dallis right off.... I just wanted some cheese XP

It should still be Deathfog. In the room with the Deathfog though, I did throw one down because I was overencumbered, and it did break and become a poison barrel. The one I kept on me stayed Deathfog though.

Nope, just tried it 10 different ways. It does stay deathfog unless you try to use it near Dallis, and in that area. So I'm guessing I can still use it for the final fight of Act 1 as they do in the speed runs.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, I keep finding out new stuff about the boat lol. Will definitely try to grab them as fane so I can use them on some of the tougher bosses

I save right outside of that door and after picking them up i check the tooltips. if i dont get 2 barrels with tooltips i reload the game untill i do. No tooltip= bugged barrel.

What do you mean pick them up with tooltip? I picked them up but they didn't work on Dallis. Is this the reason? They are definitely deathfog barrels when I look at them...
