Unique gear vs Trader gear
Who else was annoyed that the unique gear had to be ditched basicly for every level for some random trader gear just because the armour difference was so high?
I really hoped for boss lvl drops and unique items to be able to be in play for much longer. But basicly every level i had to keep 30 mins searching for new gear because it was just so much more powerfull.
Also when i entered Arx i was already lvl 20 and the uniques the traders sold were just for lvl 18 and were already beiing outclassed by the random stuff.
Do you think/believe they shoud/will change the gear system a little to scale less with lvl so it gets usefull for a longer time?
Item drops always beeing on your lvl would also be a nice feature.

They are unique for one or two levels. It's the way it is, a level is a big number here.

You could use a mod to make the stats progression from level to level less huge, so items keep their worth much longer: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1142608415

I don't use the mod but I read good things about it.

i dont think they will change it, if they change it they risk lucky charm being useless

Lucky charm is the worst thing that happened to DOS2. Fishing epic out of trashcan or rotten crap pile totally undermines the satisfaction of getting a nice item from boss fight. Game would be better without it.

Kinda agree with Necholai here. At first it was kinda fun to get decent stuff randomly, but now it seems just over the top. Thievery too - almost essential early on then by +3pts it becomes over the top and diminishes the satisfaction of a tough fight. The early on Artifacts of the Tyrant questline suffers, for example, by this quick replacement stuff, despite the writing building the dude up as a huge badass. It's hardly worth it by the time you complete the set - seems remarkable the questline/items made it through testing without rethinking.

I use the mod that gets rid of the scaling nearly entirely.
(The upgraded version of the no bloat one)

Unique Gear stays relevant for quite some time for every weapon within its tier will always stay level 1 in terms of stats.
The only thing that makes Unique Gear irrelevant is Legendary stuff etc. that has just better magical attributes.

I finished the game with some trashy ~100 armor boots, because they had 20% fire resistance on them.

Items with 3 rune slots, and items with unique resistance stats can become relevant much later in game. 1 armor or 1000 armor doesn't matter that much when spells deal 7000dmg, but holy hell does 20% resistance matter.
