Easy Villain Tag

Is there any easy way to get the villain tag?

The hero tag was as easy as giving a flower to the madman on the beach. If there's something like that for villain I'd like to know.

If not, what's the earliest someones been able to get it?

Do something mean. Take source from a few people, especially nice people. Kill civilians, etc. You may need to do a few mean things.

In the 3rd act you can release deathfog into the city. that gave me the villain tag.

in another playthrough i got it from just pickpocketing everyone and killing some of the people at fort joy.

I think its Source Vamp anyone, not just nice people. I made sure to only vamp Black Ring and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ Magisters, and I got the villain tag.

I got the tag early in Fort Joy by picking a rude response instead of a sympathetic one. Don't remember exactly who I was talking with.

I got it right away at Fort Joy. You just have to tell Griff that Stingtail stole his shet.

If you kill the decaying elf (Verdas) in the Fort Joy holding cells you get the Villain tag. The elf is in the cell near the Houndmaster. I never got it earlier in the game as of yet.

Mind you when doing it this way you do not need to be a douche all the time before in conversations or deeds or whatnot. I did chose a neutral approach and do have the Hero and Villain tag and did get them at about the same time.

I've gotten it for using the Purging Wand on Seekers (including Gareth). One time I got it for purging Alexandar on the boat (not during the dock fight).

But the easiest way seems to be in Act 2. After you get Source Vampirism, just purge a bunch of ghosts one after the other (without stopping to do heroic things in between).

You get the Hero tag from giving Migo's ring back to Magister Yarrow. After that you can still kill them at the beach for their loot. I then later killed Verdas in the dungeon and got the Villain tag. Initially I thought to release him from his unhealable torture via mercyful killing but I got the Villain tag nonetheless.

However later in the first Act (Isle of Fort Joy) there never was a negative repercussion because of killing him despite the Seekers came to rescue him in particular. This is also why I think it's an easy way to get the tag and a way without inluencing the ending of the game. He was lost anyway.

I got mine by being evil during starting phase, i pick pocketed the other origins characters and got to unnis. Tried to manipulate her but failed so i had to kill her. Than at the entrance i sided with Griff's men and killed elodi and right after that took on imprisoned elf quest and ratted stingtail and got the tag. From here on out i'll be good, i promise :) (hopefully the tag won't disappear)

after reading up a bit , and seeing how hard this seems to get i decided to start a new playthrough and get this ASAP , what i did exactly : ignore ALL objectives , on the boat i pickpocketed all i could then opened stern's room where windego is , run back to where u start and hit those magisters to trigger fight -> run to sterns room to trigger windego blast , it kills all and gives u mass exp at begin , 975 for the kills + 400 for the questprogression
- landed on the beach pickpocket the kid , and hit him (also hit trice and robbed her , ikr robbing from children..... for science xD )
- ignored the voidwoken went straight to the fort (bypassing dallis)
- sided with thugs through dialogue , killed ifan and elodi
- paid a visit to Verdas, told him to let me put him out his misery , wich i did.
- started imprisoned elf quest , went to stingtail and got the oranges (through dialogue) the route i took was say hes suspicious wich leads him to say whats actually in the oranges etc etc bla bla, he gave it AFTER a persuasion check wits in my case (wich was LOW 12) suceeded!!
- went to griff, gave the oranges no questions asked,ratted on stingtail-> he freed amyro
- killed amyro the moment he stepped out that cage
was on my way to kill saheila as next objective to see what and how villain is triggered alas i never made it , my villain eye spotted dain laying helplessly and unconcious , so i thought well thats pretty evil right ? so killed him , wich triggered a fight with his nurse the poly dwarf killed her , and BAM i was officially branded a villain :D hopefully this helps for those who want to do an evil playthrough , and could confirm these steps with succes , after some restarting and testing im not in the mood to do this AGAIN haha , so continueing this playthrough now if i happen to confirm those same steps on another one , i will , untill then i hope this helps ppl become villains early in the game!! 'A killer a thief and a traitor you are despised and feared by many'!! :D

I RETRACED THESE STEPS WITH A NEW CHARACTER AND IT WORKED, CONFIRMED!!

You can also kill the captain and his guard on the ship. Before you trigger the tentacle that kills them, you can throw a grenade right beneath them. They (very slowly) walk down to check out the vandalism. From there, you can start a fight with them.

I did everything but kill Verdas. (I wasn't sure a quick way underground.) After the Imprisoned Elf quest I went around killing every npc I could. Most npc's on the beach just outside of Griff's hideout were quick to kill and they weren't super important characters anyway. Didn't take many to get the tag.
The tag is much easier to get than I first thought.
