Wizard or Conjuror: for a noob?
Played other RPGs but nothing with this depth, going on Normal. Would u say Wizard with Pyro/Geomancy or Conjuror with summoning is better for someone new?

also, I was thinking of taking Fane but is being undead super hard ty.

Summoner with Necro + Geo if you're playing Fane, Geo gives you poision abilities allowing you to heal yourself, and summoners are OP.

Look at some skill crafting recipes. See which combinations will work best.

If you want to go blind. Then pyro/geo is not a bad deal. You want something that hits really hard. So you can quickly burn down magic armor and quickly follow up with more damage or inflict heavy dots.

Also pyro/geo get prett good buffs.

may wanna go explorer difficulty if you are not used to these kinda of game . Also conjurer has Summon . It has an incarnate and Totem that can have different elemental , like if the ground has water , the Totem will be made off water . very handy .

i've messed with both of them a little, seems the summoners are a bit more tanky with their pets. yeah i need some poison if i'm going undead -- but if there's no special surface, i end up with a crappy wood familair i noticed.

what skill crafting recipes do u mean?

yeah summoner reminds me of warlock/shaman with totems from wow. but, do i do any damage myself or just through my pets/totems?

conjurer is very squichy . You supposed to stay in the back and know where to put your totem . Often you should go up a ladder and away from the action .

Many ennemies have spell of their own , so 2nd turn you find either fire or something else . And you can summon another Totem . Btw..the elemant thing? it also work on your incarnate . If you summon him for exemple from a fire area he get fireball . And Later (after putting many points in Summon) he Grow Bigger and become a champion .

If you have 2 undead's it is even better, simply make Fane Pyromancer + Geomancer that grants you a lot of tactical advatage due to oil/fire & poison. The other undead then becomes a necromancer/summoner.

And yes summoner damage is truly insane. Not to mention their summons serve as distraction/blockade for enemies.

i see, ty. but wizards are squishy too right? I am just wondering if a summoner plays more through their pets (and less themselves) - whereas a wizard seems more active. yeah i noticed the elementals could change form depending on the surface, but sometimes i need a good surface and it doesn't exist yet.

Geo book + pyro book = geo pyro op book

Do not think in terms of your typical wizzards.

My wizzard in act 2 wearing wand with intel and skill bonuses and has a shield that gives her pretty good protection from melee. She got pretty heavy magic armor and she gets physical armor from geomancer support in group. Assuming anything gets close enough to her. Then you got pots and scrolls and food. Too keep you alive. Playing tactician. Positioning is important.

haven't tried wizard . My 1st playtrough was Lohse as conjurer .

You can always take conjurer for yourself and unlock more abilities . or make one of your companions as a wizard too .

If the ground doesn't have what you need , you create it . Sometimes there are barrell too around you , smash one of them . The Totem can be pretty much anything....even Oil .

If you want a super noob friendly class that can work with any party comp, use a necro summoner with a bit of hydro and flame. You'll get a ton of +int items so your spell casting won't fall behind and your summons can do physical so you're constantly adaptable.

Use a wand and a shield, don't ever basic attack. Totems and Bone spider will carry you hard.

Summoning has a ranged magic attack that does random elemental dmg and makes a random elemental splash zone to conjure totems and incarnates from.

Wizards can go full heavy armor. The only restriction is your imagination.

I am happy with simply using scrolls on my hydro/aero/summoner. Her fireball scroll hits for 500dmg removing magic shield and setting groups on fire. While she spawns more fire totems and a fire pet.

I let the others fill you in the abilities since I aint a pro at that lol . But persuasion is something you gonna need..well unless you don't mind getting into fight that is . But persuasion is used in alot of quest .
