rune slot, one slot per item?
uhh why? I was saving my runes to use on strong items later. They are new feature and they just made them much less meaningful...

Like most rpgs have superior items with more slots than others

do they make much difference anymore lol? i feel like i should go offline and not update put my runes then update, thoughts? Thankfully i have manual updates not auto download

no need to save runes ever since you can just remove them from gear with no penalties. As it is, stacking the runes was pretty powerful, but I don't think it should have been nerfed to 1 slot only for pieces now. (though if you had 2 or 3 slot armors before the patch, you still keep them.) Unless slotted gear is more common now? I rarely have more than 2 slotted items at a time and I am level 16.

they should have made only divine gear have a lot of slots, like already we had legendary gear better than divine gear in some cases. they could have made rune slots depend on rarity.

Wait, are you telling me you only get one rune slot now.

Why aren't they busy fixing things that matter. Like the armour system. "Your insults bounce off my armour fair maiden"

hmm i just finished the game and i had like 4 pieces of gear split between my characters that had 3 rune slots.

i am level 17 i will probably just turn off updates and play offline for now buy as many runes with slots as i can before i update. don't care about achievements

i bet lv 17 gear with 3 runes is better than lv 18 with 1
well apparently the game can't be played in offline mode. thank you for slightly making your game worse larian. I won't even bother w/ runes now would be too much effort for minimal effect.

3 Slots caused some exponential power creep at the highest levels of the game. Not that you can't blow away enemies with 1 Slot, but it was genuinely gratuitous.

my point is why they add rune system if we can't experiment wit hdifferent kinds. they could nerf the runes and keep the slots.
the entire system seems less interesting with 1 slot and it helps differentiate between divine/legendary gear

There is much less build variety now. they just changed it without giving it enough time. The game is slightly worse now in my honest opinion.

Divinity OSI was all about experimentation. I remember making completely normal arrows with the crafting system, I think the description said I was an idiot for doing so.
Now Larian are effectively saying no to experimentation with armour that blocks taunts and removing the ability to have a weapon that has a rune adding water damage and one adding electricity damage.

You definitely can experiment with different kinds! There is no penalty for removing runes, so you can mix and match however you desire across multiple items. There's also free respecs, so your options are pretty massive.

And I wouldn't worry about build variety. There is so much variety right now that you will never experience all the builds even if you put in 500+ hours. Losing a handful of builds out of literally thousands is like losing a bucket of water from a lake.

I'd say the 3 slots were OP on just my necklace alone i got 36% crit rate and my Damage is through the roof on my Knight/Scoundrel 40k to 50k Onslaught attacks, 18-20k aoe's
