How do you play Rogue?
I'm running Lone Wolf rogue (undead) with fane as a witch/necro. He does decent damage if I equip him with wands, however, they recommended I run Fane with daggers as witch but I'm only early in act 1 clearly, I am still in fort joy actually.

I do like playing Rogue, but i find the damage sucks and your defenses blow. I love the backstab critical mechanic, sneaking and thievery, however, when the actual combat starts, like with guards or crocodiles or something, I just get man handled. You can punish but can't escape and your combat is extremely close quarters so it's easy to be in the fray all the time taking damage. I can't hardly kill a damn thing without being punished. Any suggestions?

what have you placed your points into? can we get a list?
Electroflux Oct 4, 2017 @ 3:43am
finesse and constitution.

lone wolf
pet pal

scoundrel
sneaking
persuasion

that's about it really.

ok, what are the point values in those skills? you're also dual wielding wands?
Electroflux Oct 4, 2017 @ 3:45am
both fane and I are dual wielding daggers.

i actually deleted my file so i won't be able to give you specifics but i wasn't that high of a level, i was just mainly wondering how to actually play this build successfully for my next char. i thought i was doing something wrong here.

have you checked the guides section? there is one that has alot of builds listed and give some awesome guidelines. http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1143412184

I have a rogue in one of my saves that is pretty cool ( in all honesty i did load the more points mod and the 8ap mod) but i think it would be a safe bet that even without the mods i have, the build for full party rogue in the guide would do well off. though remember these are guidelines and you should either alter them as you see fit, or change the pacing.

also i think you may have wanted to put some points in dual wielding for some extra damage. earlier on in the build you had.

wow, useful guide, appreciate it

also, as a rogue i would suggest doing finesse then a balance of wits and con. maybe a 3:1 ratio. alternating between wits and con.

1 point in Scoundrel (doubled with Lone Wolf).
1 point in Necromancy (doubled with Lone Wolf)
10 points in Warfare (doubled with Lone Wolf)

Wear + Necromancy gear until you are satisfied with your self healing.

Rogue is probably better for your second character instead of your main character. Rogues do not need Wits or Pet Pal, but your Persuasion character should have decent Wits and Pet Pal.

^ kinda like that, u can get picture of health later on so u don't have any problems with your HP thanks to warfare

Yeah. Ifan makes a great Rogue because of his extra Talent. After you respec him, he can have Lone Wolf + The Pawn/Executioner + Picture of Health. With 20+ Warfare, you don’t even need points in Constitution. You can go pure Finesse until you max it.

If you're still in act 1, I suggest restart with 1 rogue 1 warfare. The cc from warfare help a great deal early in the game. In case you'd like to stick with witch, get bloated corpse skill to tank some damage for you. Having the right skills early in the game is the different between very easy and very hard time.

Is he good enough just for that alone? I heard his wolf is useless. Ifan, fane or custom? The dilemma

EDIT: wait, he has an extra talent? i don't see it anywhere on the customization unless you're implying NPC

Yes. He has Pet Pal for free, which can be respecced into something else at the end of Act 1. Rogues are hungry for talents, so he is a good pick for that reason. But you are right that his Wolf is rather forgettable.

Fane does not get the extra talent, but his source power is much better.
