Why does Sebille look nothing like the elf in the loading screen?
I like the look of the characters in the loading screen artwork, but in game Sebille looks like a ripped body building alien!

Artistic license: How many in game characters actually look like the box art or loading screens? They are few and far inbetween.

Never in the Early Access (since Sept 2016). Maybe earlier in kickstarter videos?

her current design in the EA looks a lot more like it than her initial design in EA. so maybe the finished design in retail will look closer to it. or not.

in game graphics vs artworks

That sure is annoying, elves generaly look different from that art work. They should've just used the concept art for the loading screen :squirtyay:

Most of them. Even in this game most of them do. It's just Sebille that stands out as not matching up.

They want a sexy look in the 2D art, and showing the borky skin the elves have ingame (which I really don't like) would be counterproductive. It's like commercials, sweet lies all around. :steammocking:

It doesn't match up exactly, but Sebille is literally made of wood. Not flesh. All the elves are plants.

Really, she is a tree??!

The thing is that you can radically change the appearance of each origin story hero so I actually think it's quite cool that Sebille in particular doesn't look at all like the default in-game Sebille. I mean my Ifan is a red-hair mage for instance.
And to be fair Lohse looks quite different (aside from vaguely the air color), Ifan looks a lot more "pirates of the caribean" than in-game.

Yep! It's even a plot point in the game that Elves can be planted in the ground and grow into big trees.

Well, weird though she looks I wouldn't say her skin looks like wood.

You notice the wood texture more in her stomach and legs. Like plant fibers. Her face looks pretty normal.

The whole non-wooden skin thing is caused from the age-long consumption of only lettuce and avocado. This caused elfskin to crack from loud noises which is the 420% legitimate reason why they became slaves in the first place. /s

To me it just looks like muscle in-game and in the artwork her skin looks completely normal.
