A playable male choice instead of Beatrix LeBeau?
Just a quick suggestion. Harvest Moon has the choice to play as both male and female, why not for Slime Rancher?

Great game btw :)

Why bother, though? It's all in First Person and you never see your character. Who's to say that your character doesn't identify as a male?

Well, the StarMail calls you by Beatrix, so whenever you read your mail you're reminded that you're female.

Perhaps a solution would just be able to name your character whatever you want, since you can't really tell the gender in first person it would be up to the player to decide their gender.

The story of Harvest Moon doesn't explicitly say that your character is male of female, this one does. Secondly, why does it matter so much? If you are going to say that it offer more choices, then there are games where you can only play as a male (Link in Legends of Zelda, Snake in Metal Gear Solid, etc) so why does it matter here? Also, no one complain about only being able to play as a female in Metroid, so why complain here?

Slime Rancher is currently being developed as a single player game. There are no plans for multiplayer support.

Because those are all finished games, going to the Nintendo forums and saying that you'd like the option to play a girl in Ocarina of Time has no chance of accomplishing anything, the game is already made and has been for quite a few years. This game, by contrast, is not, it's an incomplete early access game, with one of the main selling points of early access being to give you the chance to offer feedback and suggestions to the developers. Unlike any of the games you mentioned the game is in development and user feedback can be implemented.

Also the OP isn't even complaining, at all, they're making a suggestion for a feature they would like to see and complimenting the game.

Given that it's a first person game with no model or even any appearance for the character model, why not just let people name themselves?

The game does use gender specific pronouns in Starmails, but that wouldn't really be that hard to tweak in order to make those pronouns interchangeable.

Rather than changing the gender, give an option to change the name. Or an options to put your prefered gender (NOT limited to male/female)

Or just let them make their own narrative. Which happens to have a female protaganist. It's not a big deal, guys. I don't understand why some dudes have such an issue with playing a game where the character happens to be a lady, when there are many more games where the main character is a dude.

And in regards to multiplayer, wouldn't be the first game where everyone's a female character in a multiplayer game. See Sanctum. Everyone's a color-variation of Skye in that game. Probably other games I can't think of off the top of my head too. And of course there's every multiplayer game where everyone's a dude, for comparison.

And let them make their own decisions, like whether or not they want to implement any given suggestion.

Just let people choose thier own name, i cant imagine it would be that much working changing the star mail to just refernce your choosen name instead of a premade choice.

Im personally not called beatrix so it threw me when the mail was referncing a name i never selected.

I would like this to happen and different races too.
