I did too, but it's fine to just use the one at the bottom.
Does this apply to application wallpapers as well? If so, what happens to application wallpapers that currently exceed that limit? I notice that there still seems to be pirated games on the workshop, Steam seems to be taking their time in removing them.
Personally I also preferred the old icon but unfortunately a significant amount of people didn't know about the monitor menu or the settings button, so we had to add text to them. With the text the space becomes now too narrow with certain resolutions/DPI settings, so the icon editor button had to go, but the large one at the bottom stayed.
No it's not possible for us to just scan the Workshop like that from within the application. We added this 1 GB limit exactly for this reason, because almost all wallpapers that have a size > 1 GB are just abusing the Workshop for various things. Rest assured 10s of thousands of such submissions have been removed anyway and hopefully this reduces the spam.
I see, great update!
