We're not checking the top rated/subscribed lists of Steam for this if that's what you mean. We're only checking the showcase forum and some wallpapers that we find by chance on the Workshop or posted elsewhere.
But only the forum can be regularly checked and we try to do that every day, but of course sometimes we may not be able to check because we have a lot of things to do, so it may take more than a day.
There are also some guidelines in the Wallpaper Showcase discussion board where you can see what the recommendations for approval are.
If you want some negative examples in terms of "let's melt peoples gpu" ;-) you can check out my newer wallpapers that are simply not the best choice for the standard "normal" user who uses a low end gfx card. The devs are afraid they get overflooded with support request asking why wallpapers are lagging. Hate to say it but sadly this slowly moves me away from Wallpaper Engine and the Steam workshop because I feel like going back to communities where the huge amount of effort I put in most of my projects get a bit more range. I don´t do any social media so I rely a bit on the Steam workshop for people to see my stuff and the truth is that you get way more subscribers when you get the approved tag.
Please don´t get me wrong, this is no offense against the devs or Wallpaper Engine in any way. I love the app, the guys behind it offer a tremendous support and seem to be very nice guys in general, also some of my wallpapers have a lot of subs but...I don´t know...sometimes it's just time to let go and focus on some other things.
We both checked it out and added the approved flag, but it looks like you updated it shortly after. That way the approved flag is removed by Steam.
We can't really prevent that so it's best to not submit something for approval before you're really done. It doesn't seem to happen too frequently though, but it happened to someone else before.
This is what I meant in my text. Was a bit too lazy to copy the link.
I didnt asked expectly for that. I was just wondering, thanks! ^^
