Walpaper disappears every 30 seconds or so
Hi there - I searched for similar issue and read the FAQ, but did not find any solution. When running the wallpaper, it seems to fade out and flash the standard Windows desktop about every 30 seconds or so and in the middle of loops. I tried various settings in the application, but same result. Also, this behavior is consistent across multiple wallpapers.

Let me know if anything can be done. Thanks!

You need to disable the Windows slide show first, its effect will overlap the live wallpaper.

That happens to me on occasion: The next slide comes up and is visible for a split second. I have myt Slideshow set at ten minutes, and I rarely notice, so it's not a big deal for me.

Here´s my solution for this "problem" from a thread some months ago:

Had a similar problem with the windows wallpapers and never found a solution until I switched to a small little tool named "John´s Background Switcher" (https://johnsad.ventures/software/backgroundswitcher/).

Really nice programm changing wallpapers on the desktop for times when wallpaper engine is not running. Anyways...the point is: you can define a set of exe-files in JBS (for example "wallpaper64.exe" in the wallpaper engine folder). This tells JBS to sit still as long as wallpaper engine is running so no picture is overlapping the wallpaper engine. Works fine for me.

Works really good and the flashing is gone because JBS does nothing as long as WE is running.

Thanks for the tip! I'll check that out!

THANK YOU! This problem has been trying me crazy. I also have a problem when I'm in a full screen game like Overwatch. My game itself will become the desktop "Wallpaper" fully with icons on top of the game and everything, until I tab back to the game window. Is that working as intended or..??

It's because Windows doesn't actually minimize 'borderless fullscreen dialogs', it just moves them around but doesn't do it quite right.

You can set the 'Windows 7 mode' option to 'block background' and this won't happen anymore. But if you use multiple monitors and only one monitor with Wallpaper Engine, this will cause the other monitors to become opaque, that's why it's not the default.

Also, Wallpaper Engine has an option that will attempt to hide the Windows slide show effect when it happens ('remove system wallpaper fade'), it's also just not enabled because disabling the slide show is better.
