Safe to use?

Ive been thinking to buy Wallpaper Engine. But im lowkey worried about the safety of my PC using all these workshops and stuff. I would associate live wallpaper automaticly with virus filled websites.

How does this work with Wallpaper Engine?

I received about 3700, 100GB wallpapers, but I have never had a problem with a virus.

you are basically importing a gif or an image they have like 200kb or less. 99% of them are safe, but you should see their size, if they have more than 5mb then you should be careful

Im looking in the workshop and searched for ´´Firewatch´´ they are basicly all over that? Some even 200MB.

In my wallpapers i make heavy use of image sequences so they are easily something around 200-500 mb which is huge for a scene wallpaper but still 100% safe as scene wallpapers can not contain any malicious code. Just search the steam discussion board here, there are countless posts where the devs explain about the safety of Wallpaper Engine.

2B jiggly bits are over 1gb in size

Does the safety include the applications? The applications look like straight rips of actual games I've seen elsewhere. - Thanks

Application-type wallpapers will show an unskippable warning when you first launch them, we don't recommend using application wallpapers from authors that you do not trust. If you come across any wallpapers that break the Steam Workshop rules, please report them so that they and their uploaders can be banned.
