No, this cannot be fixed I'm afraid. Because this issue is known and 100% the fault of Fraps.

Fraps is broken and causing this crash as soon as there are two 3D windows in any program that was injected and hacked by Fraps.

The solution is either fixing Fraps' overlay DLL or telling Fraps to just leave Wallpaper Engine alone and don't change its code. But Fraps is not being updated anymore, it is an abandoned software. The last update is from 6 years ago.

For recording you can use OBS: https://obsproject.com/ it's being updated regularly and doesn't cause this crash.

Fraps may not have been destroyed as it has already reached maturity. I can not understand what you are saying such a saying on the ground. And it is still used by many users

In addition, despite the fact that there is still room for updating, other softwares are responsible for the cause of the crash, which is a weak technology.

Fraps is buggy and outdated and this is not our fault. The application is and not being developed anymore and the last Fraps patch was released over 6 years ago, that's even before the release of Windows 10. Meanwhile, we regularly release updates and we even reply to customers like you on a Sunday, with all due respect, don't you think we would try to fix this problem if it was technically feasible?

Whenever another program crashes Wallpaper Engine, we try very hard to contact the developers of the other software and try to work with them to fix this issue. Fraps, however, does not have any developers anymore and there is nothing we can do about this. Software development is not magic, we cannot fix a crash that is not caused by our software, at least not in this instance.

It's difficult, or 100% Fraps's responsibility or unsightly. Let's think about how such comments are seen by others

Like I said, this is a known issue that I have analyzed before in detail.

You can link this thread to Fraps developers and I am happy to tell them why Fraps is broken and what they need to fix.

Fraps works like a game cheat and Wallpaper Engine cannot stop Fraps from attacking its program with this problem. The fix needs to be done in Fraps.

To put the issue into other words: Fraps is too simple and naive and cannot handle how advanced Wallpaper Engine works. OBS is programmed better and can handle advanced programs like Wallpaper Engine.

Yes yes

You can't fix this bug with your technology. It's nice to say so honestly from the beginning

It seems like he is obsessed with OBS, but it is a remark that I do not think that there will be exchanges in terms of funding

The technology is Windows.

Windows allows cheating in games and Windows allows Fraps to crash other programs. The crash caused by Fraps works like a game cheat.

I think there is a lot of misunderstanding because of translations.

Why do you insist on using Fraps? The situation is that Fraps is causing this problem and Fraps is not being developed anymore, it is a dead program. I cannot fix Fraps for you.

Fraps is software released long ago, and Wallpaper Engine is more like a blink than its history

I understand that CRASH BUG can not be fixed due to the low technical skill of the developer, so no further comments are necessary

Wallpaper engine devs are some of the most helpful devs ive seen, they are always helping users on the steam dicussions.

Imagine if someone tried running a modern tripple A game on windows xp
(Which hasnt been supported in years).

Then they complain to the developers that the game doesnt work in xp.

Even though its physically impossible for their game to run on xp because it doesnt support several modern technologies that are core to the game.

Then the person says “your game is a blink of the eye compared to the age of windows xp

This is what you sound like

Are you seriously insulting a dev just because you refuse to switch to a better software? How high are you?

I totally agreed with Biohazard here. Bought Fraps years ago because i found it one of the best tools to record ingame footage back in the days. However as time moved on there appeared some bugs with other programs. For example the Fraps overlay crashed various games i used back then. I tried to contact the devs and hopefully get a fix for the issues but not a single request was answered in any way.

Then i switched to OBS and at first i didn´t like this tool, laggy recordings, high CPU usage while recording because of compression but time moved on and today OBS is really neat program which i find really helpfull. You should check it out because people mention the tool so often for a good reason and that is: it works and it´s totally free.
