Key input into Wallpaper "websites"
Hello there. So i've read about this before issue before about having keyboard keys being put into the active wallpapaper(in this case a website)

So I found this little neat website being https://www.chromeexperiments.com which has a lot of interactive games which I find neat for a background.
However theres some limitation to this being that it only registers mouse inputs, which is fine for games like cookie clicker and what not. But for other games like http://www.playkeepout.com/ which requires keystrokes in order to work, it simply wont work.

Concerns about keylogging etc aside. Is this a planned feature as of now?

I'm sure I'll add it, probably with some kind of warning especially for Workshop wallpapers (like applications have right now).

If you try typing with the desktop in focus, you will see that you can select icons with keys and it also makes that Windows error noise. So this makes the whole thing kind of awkward. If I implement it, I might have to completely disable that, so the feature has to be optional for everyone.

Could a shortcut to enable/disable focusing the wallpaper window/screen be an option?

Edit: This goes for the mouse as well, nothing as timewasting as making a map on the ol https://www.linerider.com/

i would love to see that the website background would accept keys. i could finaly login at youtube as background and dont have to open my darn memory eating opera again for that :) Please make it happen (an adblocker would also be cool but we cant have all i guess) As far ive seen it would be possible via javascript to implement the basic keyboard. But what do i know x)

The adblocker will be hard because I cannot use Chrome's plugins, I looked into it before. They are implement on a higher level than the actual browser/Chromium so I don't have any of the framework necessary to load them.

This is my idea, but when I activate the input field, I think it is also a way to let the wallpapers engine launch an input dialog separately.
However, this method is not good for dynamically moving content.
But it seems to some extent also be used as a temporary solution.
What do you think about this?

Yes, for local wallpapers, when you enter a URL it tells you how to do it on that window where you enter the URL.

Hey, I just found this post.. I really want to be able to press the Delete, or Backspace key, along with pressing the @ key and none of them seem to work. The only thing that works is press the A-Z letters on the keyboard. Thanks

I'm late to the party but are there any plans to implement it now or am I missing something? I too want to be able to log into youtube from my desktop, also I'd hope it would keep cookies somehow so I wouldn't have to log into it every time I turned on my pc. Thanks

Yes it is possible now, the dialog where you enter the URL describes how to do it exactly.
