Windows Slideshow reseting Wallpaper Engine Videos
Hi,
i am using OLED Screens and use Wallpaper Engine to Display Music Videos on the Screens for Anti-Burn-In. I also got an Windows Slideshow Setup, that cycles Wallpapers in case Wallpaper Engine isnt running or i close it for performance.

Now the Issue is that when the Image Changes ervery Minute in the Background "Beneath"the Video from Wallpaper Engine the Video resets and starts from the beginning.

I have used this combination for Years now and that never happend before sometimes you saw a short lag in the Video when the Slideshow Changed but then it contunied playing normally.

Amy Ideas for this? Maybe a changed Setting because of an Update or something.

Screen flashes when the slideshow shows the next picture were an issue from the early start since WPE was released in 2017. More a Windows problem then a WPE problem.

I solved this by turning off the internal Windows slideshow and installing a tool called "John's Background Switcher" (weird name but a great tool btw). What it does is basically the same as the Windows slideshow but with a lot more options to configure your Windows desktop. In the settings you can tell JBS to not change pictures when a certain application is running. Just add the Wallpaper Engine wallpaper32.exe process to the list and it stops changing your static windows backgrounds as soon as you start Wallpaper Engine. As soon as you exit WPE it will continue to change your backgrounds.

Thanks i tried this JBS and it seems to work just as you said. Still would be nice to have a solution without a seperate Software but this is miles better than before. Thanks
Glad I could help and yeah, this should be an option for the internal Windows slideshow. I would stick to JBS because Microsoft is not known to be the fastest company when adding functions to their OS. Took them 20+ years to finally add virtual desktops with the release of Win 10. :eaglederp:
