No audio with imported Mp4 video/sound file. Ok if I insert video & audio separately
Hello,

I think I read near everything about subjects with those keywords ... and the official faq too.

So ...
I use Kdenlive to create Mp4 (h.264/Aac) video files. No problem when playing them with VLC.

When I import them in a wallpaper, I got the video but no audio.
I tried several audio codecs for the Mp4 file (Aac, Ac3, Mp3, etc.) but nothing works. I got the video, I don't have the audio.

Actually, the only solution I got is to import video and audio separately.
Like this it works. In the wallpaper I got video and sound but if the subscriber doesn't select "PAUSE" in performance parametrers, there will be a sync loss when switching windows.

Also ...
When I insert the Mp3, I got audio parameters like volume, etc.
I don't have any audio parameter when I insert the Mp4.

Thanks for help.

Please don't tell me to run ccleaner, update my drivers, reset codecs, check for viruses, read the WPE faq, install Avast! or slaughter a chicken over my keyboard (I got only nuggets).

You import the video as a texture. You add the sound separately. You may also want to look in the documentation for how to pause audio/video if the wallpaper is not active.
like СРЫТОПУЛЬНЫЙ said you are making a scene wallpaper with a video texture

if you want a simple video wallpaper you need to select that from the start when you open the creator

Hi СРЫТОПУЛЬНЫЙ,
you tell me what I already do. :) ... But it's not ideal. That's why I created this topic.

Hi Capt.Luke,
I don't want a simple video wallpaper. That's not what I'm looking for.
When I import a unique video/audio file as a texture I don't have sound even if import doesn't give any error.
Import a video file then an audio file separately works but gives potential sync problems.

Video textures never had audio playing because after the import they are still textures in the end. No sound included.

As you already mentioned: demuxing the video stream and importing video and audio separately is the way to go. ^^

Hi butcho,

Aaaah Okay ! I knew that items imported were considered as textures but I didn't realize it ... It's so logic ... Why I didn't get it earlier ? Shame on me ! :D

Have to wait a possible feature where imported videos will be videos.

Thanks !
