Wallpaper Engine stop showing Adobe Flash...
Yush, i just noticed then Adobe stop supporting Adobe Flash Player & i just only used in Wallpaper Engine Adobe Flash projects & files & i can't mirage my projects any other format to show me & use those animations & loops in Wallpaper Engine.

Anybody know how to fix this to give me Adobe Flash support back my pc so, my projects in Wallpaper Engine could work again?

If you want to test it for the next Chromium update, you can download Google Chrome and check if it works there as a local file.

Either way, the easiest solution would be if you ask the Ruffle community how to make it work in Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome, there is no need to mention Wallpaper Engine, just Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and your local html file. With the next update we will update both of these components and if you can make it work in both browsers then it will very likely work in Wallpaper Engine too because it will have the latest versions of both browsers then.

Why is this a problem? Wallpaper engine doesn't use flash player for anything (at least for all I know).

Considering the fact that meanwhile all major browser removed Flash support completely and even block insecure Flash content, it is most likely that the WPE part that handles browser based Flash stuff is also not working anymore.

There might not be a way to fix this other than using an outdated version of Wallpaper Engine but hey, wouldn't this be the perfect opportunity to learn how to use the editor the hardcore way and rebuild your Flash projects in WPE? ;-)

Adobe has globally disabled Flash on all computers in the beginning of 2021: https://www.howtogeek.com/707830/how-to-use-adobe-flash-in-2021-and-beyond/ even if you had it installed, it deleted itself on January 12th. Adobe does not want you to use it.

You can use the permanent 1.2.70 version of Wallpaper Engine from the Steam betas menu, which is using an old version of Google Chromium and still has Flash enabled. But you also have to have the Flash plugin installed on your system and this is not something we are in control of since you get Flash from Adobe and they own the only right for its distribution.

Flash won't be updated by Adobe anymore and is a security risk. But we are not enforcing this, feel free to use the 1.2.70 version of Wallpaper Engine, but as I mentioned, you will also have to actually install the Flash plugin on your PC again.

-It's not actually problem or issue in Wallpaper Engine, my content just use Adobe Flash pluging & those content just stoped working in Wallpaper Engine after Flash support is gone.

It's not work to change Wallpaper Engine into oldier or reinstall Flash Pluging again in pc because, i can't do this because Adobe was prevented to do this. You can't get anymore Adobe Player install file in Adobe website & if you try to install this, it's fail because, it's can't connect into Adobe server.

Current Adobe Flash files are gone in my pc & can't fix them by try installing them again or change date more earlier that 12 day when Flash get gone because, Adobe unistaller was already removed my Flash support files my computer.

I just try to fix think to find someway solution to find setup file or config files to allow to my computer again play (*.swf) -content in my computer & also play them in web browser because my project uses this.

Looks like there are some Flash emulator projects you could try. Here's the one used by the Internet Archive[blog.archive.org] and others called ruffle: https://ruffle.rs/

It has both a browser extension and a standalone desktop executable version.

-I just noticed this early today morning & it's works like Adobe Debug Player too but, have less features currently but, if Ruffle Support add more features in their Ruffle Player, it could be better that orginal Adobe Flash Player but, still it's not meaby give possiblity to make Wallpaper Engine working with Flash support, until it was possible to add in my FireFox & IE web browser.

Yes but, issue is still or anyway that then, i can't display or play flash content any more as before in Wallpaper Engine & i dunno what to do if you can't convert or transform my old content into another formats.

I dunno then if there is possible to use for example *.exe format's that can for example open those Ruffle -player & display then my flash content in Wallpaper Engine. There is some steam workshop content in Wallpaper Engine, that have *.exe format working contents but, i dunno how to made them. x3

I found solution now & got working my flash on FireFox browser using Ruffle player but, issue is that then i don't have Google Chrome browser so, i can't get my flash working on Wallepaper Engine because, Wallepaper Engine Chrome pluging not support Ruffle Flash Player.

Chrome plugins are for Chrome only and cannot be used by other programs outside of Chrome.

What Wallpaper Engine (and Spotify, Discord, Steam) uses is called "Chromium" and Chrome plugins cannot be loaded by Chromium I'm afraid.

-So, what you try to say then, are issue in "Wallepaper Engine" -or Chrome pluging?

I solute to play Flash in Wallepaper longtime ago in older Steam topic: https://steamcommunity.com/app/431960/discussions/1/2632850028531257129/

But, the strange thing is that, then i don't even have Google Chrome on my pc but, still Wallepaper Engine use Google Chrome so, how i can change or allow Google Chrome use Flash content so, it can play Flash in Wallepaper Engine? I have FireFox on my pc but, Wallepaper not use FireFox.

So, are there any change then your team or support could add FireFox PPAPI support to Wallepaper Engine to use FireFox or add Google Chrome content update to allow to use Flash that Wallepaper use, so it could show Flash content?

The Flash plugin that existed before was not a Chrome plugin, it was an PPAPI plugin, so that's why it worked. PPAPI plugins can be loaded by Chromium too and you can load them in Wallpaper Engine if you have one.

So if you want to use Ruffle in Wallpaper Engine it must be converted to be an PPAPI plugin - just like Flash was.

A Chrome plugin is a completely different thing and it is useless for Wallpaper Engine or any other Chromium based browser (Spotify, Discord, Steam). Chrome is the only software that can use Chrome plugins.

-Yes, as i said. I got Chrome PPAPI plug installed & that why, my flash works in Wallepaper Engine but, for now it's not working. For now i got Ruffle working in Wallepaper Engine but, it's not show Flash content because, it's not allowed in Chrome pluging that Wallepaper Engine use.

If i could change or convert Chrome PPAPI to Firefox PPAPI, then my flash content could work in Wallepaper Engine so, how i do it because, i have both installed on my pc & my html script have just thinks that need to show flash & it's not dependent none web browser or pluging so, it's should working already, if Wallepaper could show my content or if Wallepaper Engine could have Firefox PPAPI in default so, i could use my flash there already.

I can tell you how to load a custom PPAPI plugin and maybe this will help you. But I'm not a developer of Ruffle or Flash, so I'm afraid I cannot help you with Ruffle or Flash itself and I cannot tell you how to convert plugins because I don't know that. PPAPI is definitely still active in Wallpaper Engine because the editor uses it. So if it doesn't work, the problem is not a setting in Wallpaper Engine or anything that we could change, because PPAPI itself is definitely available.

So if you have a PPAPI plugin, you can copy it to the wallpaper_engine/bin installation folder. Then to enable it, you can open the general settings of Wallpaper Engine and scroll down to the "CEF command line" option and enter this line. But you need to replace the file and the tag at the end where it says RUFFLE both times.

There you need to enter this:
--register-pepper-plugins=RUFFLE.DLL;application/x-ppapi-RUFFLE

-I try this.

This error what i got for now when i use Ruffle player in Wallepaper Engine:

Someting went wrong :c It appears you running Ruffle as the "file:" protocol. This doesn't work as browsers block many fatures from working for security reasons.

-My project work fine in FireFox browser but, not in Chrome.

It seems that this error is from Ruffle but I am not a developer of Ruffle, so I'm afraid I just don't know what it means or how to fix it. Your best bet would be asking the Ruffle developers/community how to use the Ruffle plugin in other Chromium applications and show them this error.
