auto mute feature not working properly

The option of 'Other application playing audio' does not work.
when i set it to mute or pause, and Eventhough i have no audio playing in the background
the audio(of the wallpaper) plays for about half a second then stops for 3 seconds then again plays for half a second and so on.
This particular bug is fairly frustrating since i've wanted the auto mute feature

It also happened to me until I muted something called AMDRSServ.
I don't really know what it is for, but it is used for the radeon software, no need to uninstal though.

I know this is a super old thread and all but after some screwing around I found a solution for anyone still having the issue such as myself today

Shadow Play is the culprit and more specifically nvcontainer you have two choices turn it off or add an exception for nvcontainer to wallpaper engine thus negating the issue in the first place

1st Go to wallpaper engines settings and click edit next to application rules then create new rule

2nd
Search nvcontainer and select nvcontainer.exe
Set condition to "Is playing audio"
Set Wallpaper playback to "Keep running"

done wallpaper engine will now ignore any audio related to shadowplay and its recording

Yes, this also happens with Amd recording software. I just excluded from the app any amd related service.
