Split screen multiplayer?
Hello! I checked the roadmap and did not see any local multiplayer options on there. I feel this could be an amazing game on steam link... Especially with the little ones.

Are there any plans for working on a "split screen" local mode?

Thank you!

Hey :) we do have plans for a local play but it may just be hotseat mode, so players can take in turns on the same platform (pc, console) but we are unsure on the time frame for when itll come right now.

Thank you so much! Have you considered split screen? I honestly am asking with no knowledge of what it takes to implement, but I can see this being extremely popular on a TV via Steam link.

Either way, thank you for your response!

Ah I came here wondering about local multiplayer, too. I was going to get something to play with my family at Christmas. Oh well.

Trance, I love split-screen but it wouldn't make any sense for a game where you take turns. Hotseat is the way to go.

Yeah, I'm in the same boat! We will have family over and one of them is 6 years old. I am really looking for a few games that aren't like "beat each other up" that we can all play together :D

Hmmmmm I'm not good at guessing what's good for the littler kids. Sonic Racing Transformed and Dungeon Defenders are fantastic games with split-screen but they might be a little too complex? Castle Crashers might be good, it's just co-op and they can button mash and have a good time. Or maybe the Lego games, most of them have 2 player co-op. Rayman is cute and has co-op but it might be too hard. I don't have kids so I honestly have no idea how good 1st graders are at games :smilekit:

Haha... She lovessss Castle Crashers. That was the first game that we really made much progress on. I had her build her stats 100% into health, then a combination of damage and speed spit evenly xD

I personally like Dungeon Defenders, but she struggles still with it a bit. I don't think she dislikes it, but she understands that Castle Crashers is easier for her to succeed at. It's pretty interesting seeing her try new stuff and learn the different games. I will check out the others you recommended.

Thank you for your reply (and the devs for their original reply)!

No problem! Love local multiplayer, just wish I still had friends close to play it with (I was in undergrad in the dorms when Goldeneye game out lol).

Oh one other to look at: A Hat In Time. It's just a wonderful little game and you can add a second player for co-op while playing.

A Hat In Time seems good... I'll send it to the family to get their input... I was alos looking at Staxel, but then I'd have to buy multiple copies and I probably wouldn't play it much without the little one.

Thank you sooo0o0o0o0 much for the recommendation though. I feel you've shared a decent one with me!
