Then just use Velvets break soul when a attack is about to hit you.
I had like 27% reflect damage and one shot him with that on intense.
lol
If a spell was going to do 2k damage to you and you have 50% reflect, that's 1k damage done to the boss (and none to you), for the cost of a single soul.
Sadly it doesn't work against mystic artes.
It's also quite funny to use on enemies that swarm you all at once (not super effective, but it's still extra damage).
Anyone knows where you can get spiked shoes again if you sold them all? :/
I did the boss once with easy-difficulty but then loaded again and want to do him the "right way" ... or at least trying to. But for that I want my %-chance as high as possible. But at some point I sold the shoes thinking I don't need them anymoe (after mastering it's skill).
Who would have thought that there is a special mob that only can be killed by reflecting damage x.x
Not that I'm really confident about actually being able to kill him this way... my reflexes are quiet bad for such "You have 0.2 seconds to press the button or the attempt is wasted again"-mini'games in games *sigh*
By the way, always keep at least 1 of each equipments, because there is a point in making them +10 (especially those with good mastery skills).
For the break, it's not quite 0.2s, you reflect anything that hits you during the soul break, velvet's claw takes a bit of time for example, so if you use it far enough to not actually hit the boss, it gives you quite a bit of time where you actually reflect damage.
Oddly enough, Magilou's break even without absorbing spells is also fairly long, and rokurou's break is usually used like that anyway, so if you are used to playing him against bosses, it's just the case of putting reflect on him.
The boss only has 2 attacks, one is an artillery thing from above, easy to evade by walking a bit, the other is when he bends over, and fires a ball that goes strait, which is easy to do a front step for souls against, and makes it easy to time your break too.
And I totally thought you need to 'activate' the soul break in the right timing for the reflecting to work.
I googled a bit - after trying everything I could against the monster and I didn't open the chest near it first for the "use reflect!" hint the game tries to give you *sigh* - and most people wrote about the timing of the soul break use. So that's why I thought you need to perfectly activate it.
Though... mostly can count on his straight attacks I guess, whenever he used the mortar-like attack he spit it somewhere where my character wasn't standing at all. Evil monster! :(
Literally 2 break souls and that was on intense. 2 minutes of fight.
