I've been meaning to upgrade my PC for quite a while now, but it still runs most modern games (and, according to the system requirements, it should also run this as well.)
So bad in fact, I'm not going to continue playing until there's some fixes. I have the very last hurdle, and it's so frustrating, I'm putting the game aside until fixed.
Shame on you devs! :
This is especially ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ because the rest of teh game was quite good!
Edit: It's not hardware lag; it's the minigame taking my control away every 5 seconsd for ~3 seconds, then taking anywhere from 1 to 5 seconds to get it back on target.... over and over with a TIMED failure!
This minigame also makes NO SENSE, because you could simply move the tower to point at the target and TAKE YOUR HAND OFF THE CONTROL..... GRRRRR!
Still playing on the gog version.
It's fine game-design wise. Sure, it makes no sense in reality, but games don't have to. Do you breathe and blink manually? No, unless you're playing a game that does that for comedic reasons.
I think I should've also mentioned that up until you get on the moon, the game runs at a solid framerate. My guess is that they just didn't get the landscaping optimized well? I mean, the intro part on Earth worked fine, so I have no idea.
Hey, at least they've acknowledged it's an issue and they're working on it. That's better than most developing studios, they just shi t out a game and don't care about it for the rest of eternity.
Don't misunderstand me; I heartily enjoyed the majority of this game.... the music, the environments, the story... etc.
I'm glad they'll fix it in time.
Also, I did finally beat it after MANY tries of that last minigame.
Optimization of the game is indeed an on-going process. The part that was mentioned in this thread is a specific area we will investigate! Additionally we'll dive back into the rules of the "mini game" itself and improve upon it.
And WWDragon. I'm very happy to see you got past it and enjoyed the rest of your experience!
The final chapter does have frame rate issues, especially outside (the very beginning of the chapter) and almost always during action sequences where there is a lot going on.
Alright 'cause it sounded a lot like you were "shaming them" just for that one issue... also, glad to hear you managed to beat it. I eventually uninstalled it and looked up the ending online...
Thank you guys again for working on it, glad to hear it too.
I'm pretty sure it shouldn't respond after 10 seconds. This is on parts where he isn't fainting out as well. I had to go look up online too just to make sure it was indeed lag, and guess what? It was.
