I believe so, still can't achieve stable framerates with gtx 1070 and a ryzen 1700 on lowest settings. There's basically zero communication from the devs

to be fair, i think the game was abandoned part way through development. i enjoyed the game, but it feels so half-baked and falls well short of its potential and promise. a real shame, they could have had a smash hit on their hands if they'd stuck with it...

probaly unfinished because they needed to move on to milking the Life is Strange cash cow.
I just got around to playing Vampyr, (just started it actually) and it's been a huge disappointment so far. I know it's not a AAA game but, it feels so disjointed and clunky, I really don't want to continue. I went into it completely blind, and now hearing that they abandoned the game really makes me want to get a refund, but I'm over the time limit, and it's my fault for not researching it in the first place. Oh well, at least I learned to stay away from Dontknod games.

I was really looking forward to it, seemed like fast paced Bloodborne style combat mixed with Witcher-esque character interaction. what i got was something completely different.
honestly if you hate the start, its mostly downhill from there. the story feels kinda forced and rushed (espicially chapter 4 - 5). the combat is unbalanced and kinda janky and the people you interact with soon become emotionaless robots.

shame it could of been a really enjoyable experience, i just find the more i get through the game the more im wishing it was over.

I got it in the half price sale and still feel ripped off🤢🤢🤢

Well, my opinion is in the minority. I am loving this game, and think it is fantastic mostly. The combat is really the biggest drawback for me, as it is repetitive and a few skills make it easy. Enemies are HP sponges if your level is too low, but mostly easy to kill otherwise. And everything you do in this game takes a really long time. it is very slow paced if you spend any time exploring. A fast travel option would have been nice by chapter 5.

I do wish the developers would fix the bugs and have another go at the camera, but otherwise I mostly enjoy the game and am on the last stretch of my second playthrough.

IMO the story is fine until right after you take care of Swansea. Then it falls apart and turns into a blatant one-track fetch quest+kill the boss. Chapter 7 might as well had been one giant cutscene. Think the backstory exposition should have been spread out a bit more rather than dumping it all on a single NPC in a single encounter.

I also had a laugh that they reuse the morgue, cemetery, Ascalon Club and Theatre for missions yet made that Castle for chapter 7 which is practically a playable cutscene.

Yeah, I get the sense that the devs were planning to do more with the Castle but couldn't. They put a lot of work in that one location and it looks fantastic.

It's not abandoned really. They added the story mode that people begged for, and always said they had no plans for DLC or expansion content.

If you are having performance issues, I can't say why, but I can say that I run the game at 75fps at max settings with no problems.

Maybe email their support and see what they can do for you.

never had any performance issues or bugs, but this game is in my opinion one of the best vampire games i know (besides "vampire the masquerade")... if you know any good vampire games pls tell me...the only thing that bothers me is the target system with keyboard and mouse :D (yes now i will give you the finishing blow! "moves mouse -> next target "NOO!" )

thats why I had to laugh, because the use Doris' theater twice (plus for a side quest) it felt kinda clear they tried to get the most out of the least amount of assets and then bang a whole new area for an epilogue. clearly the castle was probaly planned to be used more.

so for performance i had framerate drops (mostly walking towards Pembroke hospital and certain other areas) and the game would crash until i turned txaa off. in certain areas, like the sewers, the lighting looked glitched as ♥♥♥♥. yet i can run Quake Champions on Ultra (which is a game plagued by performance issues for many people) with a stable 120fps.
you're right, there arent many great vampire games since its a bit of a niche. honestly with a bit more work and refinement it could of been one of the best games ive played.
for good games with vampires, though dated the Legacy of Kain/ Soul Reaver series was alright and Castlevania Symphony of the Night. for similar games that dont have vampire per se, for gamplay would recomend Bloodbourne if you have access to a PS4 or for PC The Witcher 3 was freakin awesome and has that sort of lore to it.

i played vampyr since release and then made a break ( until now and started a new save)... so until now i had two crashes (like you said entering Pembroke hospital area and sleeping at pembroke(one of 7 times)) , so I think they did something wrong while patching....but never got performance issues (16 gb ram, nvidia geforce gtx1050Ti, AMD Ryzen 5 2400G .....if it helps

Soul Reaver.... truly it was a great series :D

yeah im running a sim system except using a gtx1070. having read on the forums apparently theres a known fault with the txaa being turned on, as soon as i turned it off the issue resolved.
yeah i really wish they would bring Soul Reaver back. some really cool lore.
