Scarf bug
Some of you have probably heard of this one already...
with Christina Popa and Clayton Darby, after listening to their private conversation and exhausting all of their dialog options, it's supposed to give you the option to give Clayton the scarf, once you retrieve it.
However, my quest only gives me the option of giving it to Christina.

I've looked online for a workaround, but there doesn't seem to be one, unless I've backed up the save files somehow (and I don't want to to go through that much work because of a bug - and I don't want to have to spoil the story for myself in fear of bugs, either :/ )

Have someone had the same bug, and found a way to make the game realize that Clayton is an option? Going through their dialog again didn't seem to help.

I have all hints for both of them. No new dialogue for Clayton, but it unlocked dialogue for Cristina. Investigation is still stuck and I can't give the scarf to Clayton.

You can't fail a hint after it's been unlocked, so I just gave the scarf to Cristina. She looked chilly and I was about to head into the sewers anyway. Would be a waste to get mysterious stains all over it. She was happy to get it back, so yay.

I missed this bug my first playthrough but got it this time around :( Got the investigation, slept, and then it got borked when I did it and tried to turn it in to Clayton.

Haven't found any workarounds yet. After some digging, I read it *might* sort itself out later on as the story quest progresses and the option will show up when going through the dialogue again. There's also a way near the end of the game to get missing hints, but I haven't read anything solid about this method working on this particular quest.

I see... I will leave it for the next night, then, and hope the option comes back. I am not actually going to embrace them, but it bothers the role-player in me that I can't finish this the way it's intended.

I've read that the bug appears if you don't complete the quest in one setting (i.e. qutting), and that seems to be the case for both of us.

Have you failed any hints for either Clayton or Christina? If yes, you probably won't be able to give it to him.

Nope, I have all the other hints for them. I'm just going to carry on with my game for a while and ignore them. Clayton can sort out his own love life. I give him medicine for free - this scarf is mine now, I killed for it fair and square and it'll go great with my spiffy coat.

lol :) hopefully this will solve itself after a couple of in-game nights, but I might have to accept the loss :/

You can't fail a hint after it's been unlocked, so I just gave the scarf to Cristina. She looked chilly and I was about to head into the sewers anyway. Would be a waste to get mysterious stains all over it. She was happy to get it back, so yay.

That is unfortunate, since this really is a game that inspires completionism :)

But he got the hints from the alternate source, which is good since that's literally the only benefit to giving the scarf to Clayton. I'm honestly surprised there's no affinity or anything getting people to trust you so maybe you can lower their mesmerise level. That would have really added a level of interest to interacting with the cattle.

Well, it feels better to choose the option that makes more people happy, if you're trying to play a 'good' vampire. For the actual gameplay, it doesn't matter if Clayton can take the scarf or not.
