May have been discussed to death, but, tile limits in "This is Depressing"
I'll preface by saying I sunk MONTHS of time into Yoot Saito's SimTower way back in the day. I loved it more than any Maxis Sim game there was at the time.

After an LGR review of the game, I immediately went and purchased this game on the Switch, as it had ALL of the DLC available. I made a sandbox tower and had a crapton of fun with that.

Once I was finished with that, I did a couple scenario towers and then put the game down for awhile.

I came back, and "This is Depressing" was the next available scenario for me to play.

I used my influence points and maxed out the height and tile limits, but the game SEEMS to imply that the limits (or at least the tile limit) can be increased yet again via the lobbyist. It says that after placing the 2,500th(?) tile.

On top of that, contracts available imply that despite these limits, why not try building some nice spacious loft apartments and big corporate HQs?

So I am confused. Are these contracts a TRAP and I'm a sucker for accepting them? :O

Or am I just not seeing something?

I watched a playthrough of the scenario on YouTube, with the player running into this same problem. They ended up demolishing extraneous tiles on lower floors to free up available tiles. Is this what I'm gonna have to do as well?

I have not gotten a single medal yet, but I imagine letting the game run will certainly net me the bronze and silver, as all I need to complete those are the money, and the building certainly makes money.

(P.S. Is there an active Project Highrise Discord server? I can't seem to find one. I guess that's somewhat fair, this is a rather niche title that's already 5+ years old.)

Hi,

first of all, there is the official Kasedo Games (the publisher of PH) Discord server: https://discord.gg/kasedogames

About the scenario... No traps.

Please take a look at these resources:

Thanks for the tips. Katherine's video was actually the one I referred to in my OP.

After doing some of the things she did, deleting unused tiles on lower floors, and then throwing a bunch of paintings into the building, I met all the requirements for the gold medal.
