This game needs a river map with patrol boats

I think it would add a bit more flavor to the game what do you guys think?

It has been considered, but so far the developers aren't very interested.

ANY of the brown water navy would be interesting. But how does it tie in with the game play? A lot of work for a BIG question mark. Not like there is a NVA counter. As some kind of chopper replacement? Its just a risk to game flow and balance. Since you ALSO need maps to use it on as well as everything needed to to do water craft. Its not a small thing. but also should not be as hard as say, choppers. And no legacy code from the tanks back in RO2 to go off either.

Still.... it sure would be cool. If it worked well.......

I could imagine that it would appear in maps like Resort, or maps with bodies of water around it in general. Maybe it could prove to be a mobile spawn point, and could carry troops across the water, and maybe even be a protable radio.

it's a terrible idea for this game.

choppers can go anywhere on the map. a PBR would be limited to the river. sounds like great fun (not) and a waste of team man power .

Hmmm, not to pin this on anyone, but last I recall there was actually one interesting mod project (which I forgot the name), planning to add US PBRs and battle sampans, but the modder mentioned something about waiting for the M113 to be released because some of the codes needed for the mod is not in yet (but it might be in the M113)

It'll be a gimmick for a gimmicky map.

Oh no, a Resort 2.0

The Mekong Delta would be a perfect place. The Navy deployed 140 PBR patrol boats to Vietnam as part of Task Force 116, Operation Game Warden. TF-116’s area of operations included the 3,000 nautical miles of navigable waterways in the Mekong Delta. Also to everyone saying that it would be over powered or under powered, A boat in a bad spot would get taken out ez by small arms, as well it has to keep moving and can't aim great, but that said it would be great transport for maps like resort or newer maps that are nothing but riverways and rice farms.
