Soldiers in this game throw grenades like little girls!
Honestly, a real grenade is not as light in weight as many people imagine, but you can throw it way further than in the game.

Please put at least 5 meters on....

How do you know so much about little girls....

I think the throwing distance is ok, you don´t throw grenades above shoulder like a little girl, neither like a baseball, the distance is ok for that, the soldier has a backpack which drags him down and makes it harder to throw, incluing ammo and the guns hanging from the side. You´re not at gym class or something. and if the projectile, in this case grenade is heavier, doesn´t it low down in the air faster and make a even lower amount of throw distance?

Are you priming your grenades (holding them back before throwing them)? Are you throwing on the move? If you stand still and just click to throw a grenade like it's counterstrike or calla dooty you're only gonna lob it about five feet in front of you and get cooked. I've thrown grenades at least 30m and not had any problems.

throw distance seems fine to me. You probably misjudged the distance. Everything looks smaller on the screen.

As a someone who has actually thrown a grenade, I think the distance is ok. Handgrenades are actually quite light. I admit that Im really bad at throwing stuff but grenades are not really meant to be thrown far.

Modern grenades are quite light, yes.

Grenades are intended to be thrown as far as necessary, to prevent yourself getting hurt or others around. And always out of a covered position.

How far someone can throw usually depends from how good of a thrower he is. The grenades in Vietnam were quite light, and could easily been thrown much further than in the game. When you throw a grenade, you try to get as much distance to the target as you can. You wouldn't get any closer if not necessary.

In this game, grenades don't seem to fly far at all, and I don't understand why they can't allow us to decide for ourselves if we want to just toss the grenade ( as usual in CQB, because of the short timer ) or actually throw it further when being in a bit more open territory.

At 3:20ish you clealry see how far they throw their live-fire grenades.

Hard to guess how far they throw it in the game, but it feels too close. All I am saying.

The Grenade throw distance in the game is about 40 meters.

Thank you for this valuable information!

This seems quite far then. It didn't look far on the screen :-)

The one I threw was only 60 grams lighter than a m26. Thats not much.

There was a Tunnel 40m away, and my grenade flew like 10m and landed on the ground.........killed my teammates and myself

Everyone knows there's several ways to prep and throw grenades, right?

You can pull pin and throw overhand. You can also pull pin and toss underhand.

If you want more control over fuse timing, using the appropriate controls will allow you to pull the pin, release the spoon and "cook" the fuse before throwing or tossing.

Keep in mind that the stick grenades used by the North have a much simpler fuse system, and have no spoon to account for.

The 'ball' type grenade with the pin and spoon safety was researched for the safest way to throw it since the WW1 mills bomb and 'pineapple' grenade, so the soldiers in game throw it with that method. The ChiCom stick grenade will go further based on the way it is thrown and the pysics of the throw.

The American M67 fragmentation grenade of the era was considered to have a 5m lethality blast area, and fragments could go out as far as 25m or more, actually further than the throw. And being little pieces of 'spring steel' fragments will 'hurt' the thrower if the grenade is not thrown by training as well as expierience. And the fragments will go through the wood and thatch of the typical Vietnames hootch, so throwing a grenade into a 'raised' wooden floor, hootch in a ville with thatch walls was not usuall a very good idea contrary to the movies.

And from what I have seen from the original RO to RO2/RS to RS2 many players do not know how to throw grenades or when to throw grenades, with the resulting TK issues.
