Game freezes when I open menus

Since late mid April I've had an issue which is the game freezing for about 5-10 seconds when ever I do the following:
open settings
open roles
open team switch
join a squad
scroll through settings,squads,soldier customization and weapons

I've been searching for a fix to this ever since the day it started and, since I'm posting this, I got absolutly nothing. If anybody can find a fix, thanks in advance.

Have you tried to verify your game cache?

Yes I have multiple times and its still freezing

Okies, go into your anti-virus and allow RS2.

Just did that again, not the fix.

Delete the folder called "Config".

Surprisingly, that actually didnt work...even though its used to fix about everything wrong with this game.

When you do those things that you stated in your OP check your CPU and RAM usage, is it abnormally high?

CPU wise I'm good... 10/20%. Running an I7. I will say, seeing this game using 2GB of memory at start up seems... overkill. I have 16GB so I'm good memory wise. But ya... CPU usage tops out at 25% at peak usage.

2-3 delay clicking any main menu button after folder deletion.

This is totally weird. I really don't know what to to tell you other than to wipe out the entire game and reinstall it. I'm sorry, I was hoping to help you with this problem. The good news is you're not alone in this. Seen a couple of these threads, some recent.

ya... really strange indeed. For the record, for tripwire guys:

- Uninstall done
- verify files step done
- folder removal tricks done
- USB device trick done

and it's only menu issues. In game runs "fine". FPS is good. gameplay is smooth. The menu lag is the only issue.

Yeah im considering going to reddit for this, but since it seems like this issue has finally been noticed by more than two people, I'll just wait a few days, see if a fix comes out. if the worst happens, maybe it'll be fixed with the ARVN update.

-A couple other random things to check out!

Turn off Enhanced Pointer Precision in Windows.

Try other display options such as full-screen to windowed full-screen.

Try decreasing graphics to low.

Close external programs that might interfere.

Some security prog AVG and AVAST have game modes that can cause conflict.

Windows 10 itself also has the DVR and if you are on the creators build, game mode.

Then there are programs like Nvidia share, Relive, Raptr, Twitch Client, Discord, Overwold, Plays.tv, Fraps, Razor Synapse, Corsair Software, Logitech Gaming Software and pretty much any program that can interact with the game client via profiles, settings managers or that provide game overlays.
