Check for duplicates or remove every custom map in both folders and let the servers re-download the maps.
Also I don't know what you were referring to when you said "Cache" is that a folder in the directory?
Documents/My Games/Rising Storm 2/ROGame/Cache
After removing both map folders set this launch option: -NOHOMEDIR , this way the game wont use Documents for storing maps, i don't have this issue since i set that up.
When you say remove both the map folders I'm assuming you mean "Documents/My Games/Rising Storm 2/ROGame/Cache" and the entire "steamapps/workshop" directory folders?
And then setting up " -NOHOMEDIR" in which directory?
Also I deleted all the files besides "Binaries" and "ROGame" in the "My Games/Rising Storm 2" along with all the files in "ROGame" besides "Cache" "Config" "Localization" and "Logs".
Did I screw up?
That's actually not much and could be the issue.
Simply unsubscribing from maps will automatically delete them from the workshop folder. Just not the cache folder.
With the cache folder it is documents/my games/Rising storm 2/ROGame/cache as you know. Deleting the folder itself or just the content inside works either way. This cache folder is where maps will download too directly from the server. They won't go into the workshop folder when you download from the server. The only things that end up in the workshop folder are your subscruptions. As I said before unsubbing automatically deletes it from that workshop folder in steamapps.
For the -NOHOMEDIR thing it's Steam launch option. Basically means the game doesn't use the documents folder for anything. Not sure where it puts it all though. In your steam library right click on the game then click Set launch options. Then you just put that in. Not an official solution for this I might add.
nohomedir just puts the ROGame folder on the same directory the game is installed and yeah it might not be the solution for your issue, just saying what i did to ble able to play custom maps again.
