No Sound In Game

I just upgraded my headset to a Razer Tiamat 7.1 v2. It sounds great and everything is running smooth, great sound from all my games. Except suddenly this game is refusing to play sound. It worked previously, but for whatever reason with changing headsets, it is not working.

Does changing any audio settings do anything? Do you get UI sounds when clicking buttons?

That might even be a Windows problem. When I changed from headsets with 2 mini jacks to one with a USB, windows got cranky and still wanted to send sound to the old headset or speakers.

Nothing within the game seems to fix it. I tried deleting and then verifying files through steam, but to no avail. I'm getting a new sound card- going from onboard to a dedicated card, so maybe that will fix it. If not I'm going to try unistalling and reinstalling the game.

Ive tried switching to stereo (as the Timat 7.1 v2 has a button to switch between 7.1 and stereo), however this did not work.

Do you have any other headphones or speakers to try, as a test?
If you R-click the sound icon in the system tray and select Open Sound Settings does Windows show the correct hardware is selected? Does you headset work in Skype/Discord/et cetera?
