Fixed - 'A DX11 capable graphics card is required to play the game' - GTX 1060
Thank you so much for even reading about the problem I have. Recently I bought this game and after downloading it, I opened it. Then a message popped up saying 'A DX11 capable graphics card is required to play the game' but I am running the game off a GTX 1060. I checked the Geforce website just in case and it does indeed support DX11. So how come I keep getting this issue?

I have checked the forum and I've searched google to find an answer but I can't seem to find anything. I've validated my files and I've reinstalled the game. I've tried forcing the game to play in DX9 by using the commands '-force -d3d9' and 'DX9'.

If there is anything else that I could try please let me know as I was, and still am, so excited to play this game. :)

-Your game might be running off integrated. Check your nvidia control panel and make sure the game is set to your dedicated.

Thank you so much for trying to help, I changed the CUDA - GPUs to use the GTX 1060 but the same problem still occurs.

Make sure your driver is up to date. Also try manually installing DirectX, there is an installer included in the installed folder (i.e. G:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Rising Storm 2\_CommonRedist\DirectX\Jun2010), run the DXSETUP.exe in that folder.

Thank you! I would've never have thought of going into the files to try and reinstall DirectX, sadly neither of those two methods worked. I've got the latest drivers and I've now made sure DirectX is installed. I really hope that we can get this fixed!

I played the game for a few days now and everything went fine.

Today i got the same message.

"A DX11 capable graphics card is required to play the game"

Then I rebooted my PC and the game launched again... but now i have heavy lags, Even in the menu. It's unplayable.

My Specs(Laptop)

Geforce 840M 2GB
8GB DDR3 RAM

I had same thing after updating drivers. Had to uninstall them and use older ones.

All fixed! Computer was getting old so I put a new ssd in and reinstalled windows. Works like a charm :steamhappy:
Verify game files, or if you don't want to then at least make sure certificate is NOT deleted.
Install Windows update number:
KB4490628
KB4474419
