how to add bots to lan server?

i wanted to make a personal server on a different machine, basically to handle AI while my pc ran the game, but i cant figure out how to add them.

iv seen 2 servers marked with bots but i cant figure out how i add them, the "addbots #" command isn't recognized and i cant find a mod that adds them so im hella lost and left with a basically empty server.

anyone got a work around or solve for this? i know the steam discussions page is deserted but someone must have a fix lol.

yea, the guide you shared is the way to do it on the same PC through the games command console. my server is a separate PC, and the MP for the game doesn't recognize the "addbots #" command, it only works for "SP".

there's dozens of forums online saying there's no bots for the dedicated servers, but then i open the server browser to see that a handful of servers have bots, so i'm left confused af lmao.

idk, mayhaps i need to do more poking.

It doesn't help much but they told me that there is a mutator for that. Also I don't know where to find that mutator.

Same af. i also see a lot of mention of the ro2 sdk, so ive started to assume people ARE figuring it out, its just that no ones made a tutorial for the sdk or just released a mutator for everyone who doesn't know how to use it.

either way, i plan on poking it at some point, but i have no idea where to start nor do i have any kind of modding experience so then 'when' is still pretty floaty atm.

Doing this right now as well. so far they've supplied updated steam .dlls that didnt - for some reason - come with the initial steamcmd download.

How do you use it?

First make sure your .dlls are up to date. One of the "Rising Storm 2: Vietnam" Discord mods -=PR=-MadMax posted the updated .dlls in the "support-and-Loose-Bug-Discussion" tab for myself when I needed them, place the files inside of the zip file into "./RS2Server/serverfiles/Binaries/Win64" and copy over the existing files.

Start the server and set your WebAdmin up first if you haven't yet.

Next, go to the Workshop tab in the WebAdmin, and make sure to click the "update settings" button if its there.

Then follow This[wiki.rs2vietnam.com] tutorial to set your workshop redirects up. the workshop item ID you need is 3201655018. Make sure to plug this number into the server workshop tab as well and click add and download. if its unable to you need to go back and fix your workshop redirects.

Save and close the server and WebAdmin. edit your .bat at add
"?mutator=SeedMutator.SeedMutator" into your launch options, save your .bat and launch. if all goes well it should work.

Do keep in mind that i set mine up using WindowsGSM. so it may be set up differently, but hopefully it helps to some capacity.

*edit* forgot to mention that i havent figured out how to automatically get the bots spawned in, but if everything works right, there should be a menu in the webadmin where you can add the "addbots X" command and restart the match

nvm, i'm dumb. I thought this was all going to get me to have bots in a ranked server, but the discussion literally says LAN lol.

yea sorry. im sure its possible to get a ranked server with bots on it but you'd have to talk to tripwire and see about getting the "ranked" status from them.

as far as i know they dont give ranked tokens out unless its a clan or an actual organization asking... thinking about it there's a lot of hoops to jump through just to get a "ranked" server, kinda wack but understand why.

unfortunately not, pretty positive TripWire is requiring people to apply for "Ranked" status.

im sure if i got enough people on board in some sort of clan they would allow "ranked" status for the server, but im not that interested in playing against others. plus i dont think the unlocks will be worth it lol.

in reality i havent played in a few weeks lmao.
