Browning M1919 Status

Okay guys welcome everybody. This is a Machine Gunner thread. What is your opinion about the M1919? Cause I manage to get a quite good k/d ratio with every LMG (except the L2A1 which is the other flaw here) but with the M1919 i can hardly hit anyone from distance.

I mean have you seen that high recoil? What are we supposed to do with it and how to control it?
I was forced into going for the BAR and being a half machine gunner cause i couldn't hit people in half cover at 60-70m.

There are some exceptional LMGs in this game but, IMHO L2A1 and M1919 have so many flaws compared to the others. What do you think about it?

I'm assuming you have not seen the M1919A6 pre-nerf. The L2A1 is very good in full-auto if you use short bursts and a laser gun in semi-auto.

so I could just go for the L1A1 if I have to use the semi auto.
Anyway no, didn't see the m1919 pre nerf. I suppose it was too strong but now as I'm telling you, it's hardly usable on medium to long distances

I don't understand? The L2A1 can be used in semi-auto but there is really no need to use it as short bursts in full-auto are very controllable.

yeah it's always like that: thay make a weapon go from OP to crap. Why not a midpoint like other LMGs? In this way I'm costricted to use the BAR

It ain't though. It's nerfs we're designed to make you use the bipod.

I was having some problems on Ninh Phu with it. There were four dudes running across the street around 80m away and couldn't hit any of them.

One would think yes but that isn't the case, I know how to lead a target. Tried various leads and nothing worked. The grouping with that gun is appalling. Good luck hitting the broad side of a barn after 100m with it.

The problem being that almost no maps custom or otherwise are designed with use of a bipod in mind because of such short engagement distances and massive amounts of foliage.

Try setting up an MG on firebase georgina, oh wait you can't do it in any reasonable position because there's tall grass in your face that your enemy doesn't see from 200m away.

I almost always use the MGs off the bipod in this game, since my role as an MG isn't really to be accurate and no one else tends to be contributing to the volume of fire, It isn't like firing unsupported with the M60 or RPD is that inaccurate anyways.

With the M1919 you should really forget about using full auto from standing unless you're just trying to suppress, It's pretty weirdly bad in terms of hipfire recoil too.

It's not. I can confirm that recoil is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ wild, even with bipod. Already said that: I can shoot down people at 70-100m without any major problem with other LMGs. Not with that one which makes you bump a lot

The 1919 is good if u know how to use it. Like any other weapon. The 1919 and L2 should be used in short bursts even on bipod. When ur off the bipod put the L2 in semi auto. I've killed a lot of people with those guns. It's a challenge but once you get the hang of the gun, it becomes real fun to use.

The L2A1 without bipod support is still very good in bursts.
