Some experienced players prefer not to go through the game running around as if they had a neon bullseye on their chest and back (a close approximation of how easy it is to pick off a white-skinned target with no shirt on). When i encounter a teammate with no shirt, i stay clear - bullet magnets. And yes - they do look like VC when they play southern forces - especially when running towards you in a crouched position. Worse than going shirtless (mitigated by choosing african-american character) is choosing to wear a white t-shirt. Bottom Line: just because you can do something, does not mean that you should. This is why soldiers wear uniforms. To avoid getting TK'd a lot, try wearing a full uniform (with helmet or soft cover) - so that your team mates can easily recognize you.
