What's the deal about going shirtless?
Seems many players have their characters fight without shirts, but wouldn't the skin color make them stand out?

Perhaps they're trying to get a tan.

Depends on how well they use the concealment available. Shirtless dude without an early unlock requires some time to open so they probably have it figured out. But heck... I freely admit that bush is so thick I often cant see peeps anyway. :P

Most of the time people just put on their most recent unlocks for some reason, and for a long time that will be the shirtless tunic options.
But then again I've seen people be level 70 and not have figured out you can customize your character.

The only time you should go shirtless is with the NLF, making your character look like van darkholme is awesome.

Less experienced players would mistake no shirt with north vietnam. So you may be able to fool a new enemy player into not shooting you, or a new friendly player may mistake you for enemy and kill you as well. Lol

It might confuse the enemy for long enought for you to shoot them.

Shirtless definitely makes you stand out if you're white
you can't tell shirtless players of they are on your team or not. especially if they wear a green helmet too.
neeless to say, hesitating to weather im shooting at a friendly or not cost me my life multiple times.
its pretty damn annoying to be honest

Some experienced players prefer not to go through the game running around as if they had a neon bullseye on their chest and back (a close approximation of how easy it is to pick off a white-skinned target with no shirt on). When i encounter a teammate with no shirt, i stay clear - bullet magnets. And yes - they do look like VC when they play southern forces - especially when running towards you in a crouched position. Worse than going shirtless (mitigated by choosing african-american character) is choosing to wear a white t-shirt. Bottom Line: just because you can do something, does not mean that you should. This is why soldiers wear uniforms. To avoid getting TK'd a lot, try wearing a full uniform (with helmet or soft cover) - so that your team mates can easily recognize you.

Makes it more difficult to tell friendlies and enemies apart which is both a + and a - and usually picking a darker skin tone fixes the problem of standing out too much without a shirt. I got one character that has no shirt and it's my Australian, i simply like how he looks without it.
