Insurgency sandstorm is really good. Damage is similar (low TTK, one hit headshots), class and side based weapons, can hear local chat, fire support options. A bit smoother and better graphics. Newer game, getting free updates, workshop coming soon.
I've had fun with Squad but I uninstalled it because the long match times can go to ♥♥♥♥ with poor team planning or other reasons, leaving me feel like I wasted a bunch of time. Some 40+ minute matches with only a bit of action, lots of building and walking and maybe like 4 kills at the end is not uncommon.
Insurgency, DoI and whats more HLL are not even close to RS2.
HLL is very clunky atm, doesnt have non verbal communication, very SQUAD alike.
DoI and Insurgency have weird angle of perspective in a game, you dont feel the scale of location at all to be honest, feels like being a toy.
I tried Insurgency: Sandstorm, and it just feels... arcadey to the max. It's too action-based, twitch-responses, run-n-gun, the like. What I like so much about RS2:V is that there is definitely an advantage to moving slower and paying attention to your surroundings. Vs I:S where people run around the map no-scoping and quick-scoping etc.
